“Terrain” - the monumental ceramic wall installation conceived by Hannes Peer and brought to life by Officine Saffi Lab – is on view at via Niccolini 35a, Milan, until July 1st.

Peer’s practice draws on historical references while remaining firmly anchored in the present. His research echoes key figures of Italian design culture such as Giò Ponti, Lucio Fontana, and Fausto Melotti, as well as the architectural experimentation of the 1960s and 1970s, when ceramics were rediscovered as a primary construction material capable of transcending pure ornament. Yet this legacy is not approached nostalgically. It is reactivated as an operative framework for today.

Free admission upon on-site registration:
Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 AM–1:00 PM / 2:30 PM–6:00 PM;
Saturday, 11:00 AM–6:30 PM.

We are very happy to welcome visual artist Natalia Ramos (1993, Mexico) to Milan to join our residency program and develop her research over the course of a two-month stay.

Based in Mexico City, Natalia’s practice centers on the fragment as a site of meaning with pieces that do not seek unity but exist in tension: partial, suspended, suggestive. Working primarily with high-fire ceramics, metal, and textiles, Natalia creates inner landscapes that act as affective archives; translations of the intimate that resist full disclosure. Through modularity and assemblages, she constructs an emotional syntax of dismemberment and proximity. Her practice inhabits the in-between: the moment before things come together or fall apart. In her installations, materials enact small negotiations of holding, leaning, opening spaces that remain unsettled.

Stay tuned for updates from her residency!

Tonight 6:30 PM, on the occasion of Milano Art Week, we look forward to welcome you to the completion of “Questa stanza non ha più pareti”, a permanent site-specific installation by Francesco Simeti, created within the Foundation’s spaces.

Conceived from its earliest stages as an open and evolving work, the artwork is now enriched with a new group of ceramic sculptures that further extend its spatial and relational dimension.

The new installation presents the outcome of a collaboration between Simeti and a group of teenagers from the Milanese community Associazione Qiqajon, who participated in a workshop held in the Foundation’s ceramics studio.

Created with the support of Iris Ceramica Group, the installation continues to embody the dialogue between ceramic tradition, technological innovation, and artistic experimentation that defines both Francesco Simeti’s practice and the mission of Fondazione Officine Saffi.

FRANCESCO SIMETI.
