⚓ Marina Militare at NAV 2025: Research, Technology, and Operational Vision

Marina Militare’s strong commitment to research and innovation was reflected in its active participation in the NAV 2025 – International Conference on Ships and Maritime Research, held from 18 to 20 June at the University of Messina - Department of Engineering.

The event gathered leading experts to explore current and future challenges in naval engineering, digital transformation, and maritime sustainability.
In this context, Marina Militare took part not only as an institutional partner of the event but also as a key contributor, presenting four original papers authored by officers from the Corps of Naval Engineers:

🚢 NAV 2025 – A Historic Milestone for the Italian Academic Community

The 21st International Conference on Ships and Maritime Research, held in Messina from 18 to 20 June 2025, marked an important step forward for the national and international maritime research community.
🔹 For the first time in the history of the event, NAV was held under the joint patronage of all Italian universities offering Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering degree programs:

As Diamond Sponsor of the NAV25 Conference, Fincantieri proudly led the conversation on the digital future of the maritime sector through a dedicated workshop and participation in the round table.

🔷 The Opening Ceremony of the 21st International Conference on Ships and Maritime Research has officially taken place! 🔷

After the greetings from Prof. Vincenzo Crupi (President of the Scientific Committee - Università degli Studi di Messina), Eng. Alberto Moroso (President of ATENA - Associazione Italiana di TEcnica NAvale), and Eng. Giovanni Alga (President of ATENA Sezione Sicilia Orientale), we were honored to welcome distinguished institutional representatives.

Admiral Pierpaolo Ribuffo (Head of Dipartimento per le Politiche del Mare), C.V. Plinio Rapanà (Arsenale Militare di Augusta), Prof. Valter Sergo (Pro-Rector Università degli studi di Trieste), C.V. (CP) Luciano Pischedda (Commander of Capitaneria di Porto di Messina), and Avv. Francesco Rizzo (President of Autorità di Sistema Portuale dello Stretto) opened the conference with their warm greetings and insightful remarks.
