⚓ Marina Militare at NAV 2025: Research, Technology, and Operational Vision
Marina Militare’s strong commitment to research and innovation was reflected in its active participation in the NAV 2025 – International Conference on Ships and Maritime Research, held from 18 to 20 June at the University of Messina - Department of Engineering.
The event gathered leading experts to explore current and future challenges in naval engineering, digital transformation, and maritime sustainability.
In this context, Marina Militare took part not only as an institutional partner of the event but also as a key contributor, presenting four original papers authored by officers from the Corps of Naval Engineers:

🔹 C.F. (GM-GN) Michele GIANNELLA “Preliminary Analysis on the Integration of Directed Energy Systems in the Next Generation Surface Naval Vessels"
🔹 C.C. (GM-GN) Stefano DE CICCO “Preliminary Design of a Full-Lithium-ion Battery Conventional Submarine"
🔹 S.T.V. (GM-AN) Daniele BET “Concept Design and Subsystems Integration of a Multi Capability Drone Carrier Warship"
They highlighted Marina Militare’s central role in advancing naval technology and reaffirmed the value of integrating operational expertise with scientific research.
