🌿 Great Enthusiasm in Pantelleria for the Warka Towers! 🌿

On April 3rd, 2025, Architect Arturo Vittori, founder of Warka Water Inc, presented his groundbreaking project at the University of Pantelleria – Unipant: the Warka Tower, an innovative structure designed to harvest drinking water from the humidity in the air, offering a sustainable solution for vulnerable communities around the world.

💧 The event sparked strong interest and lively interaction with a diverse audience of architects, engineers, local farmers, and citizens of all ages, all eager to explore new strategies for tackling water scarcity and supporting social innovation.
The initiative, launched by Vice President Nuccia Farina, was such a success that Unipant is already planning a return visit for a more in-depth seminar… with the ambitious goal of building a Warka Tower on the island! 🌱🏗️
Councilor Bonì, attending on behalf of the Municipal Administration, enthusiastically supported the initiative, which was part of the Participatory Democracy program.
The project will also be presented to Italo Cucci, Commissioner of the Pantelleria National Park, who was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict with another official event.
Thank you, Pantelleria, for the warm welcome, open minds, and shared vision for a more sustainable future! 💙.....

Warka Village
Passive cooling
-
Passive cooling is a building design approach that focuses on heat gain control and heat dissipation in a building to improve indoor thermal comfort with low or no energy consumption. It works by using shade and insulation to keep heat out of the buildings, in hot weather conditions. The passive cooling design is based on 3 main design features:
- an elevated floor.
- a steeply pitched roof with long overhangs.
- a large open terrace.

Warka Village
Ubuntu
-
The Warka Village social philosophy incorporates the “Ubuntu” concept, which means, in the Pygmy’s culture, and the African culture in general, “I am because we are”. This term emphasizes the importance of community and cooperatives. It is essentially about togetherness, and how all of our actions have an impact on others. Ubuntu is a capacity that expresses compassion, reciprocity, dignity, harmony, and humanity in the interests of the building and maintaining a community with justice and mutual caring.
