FOR A WORLD WITHOUT HATRED
Lately I’ve found myself deeply affected by all these wars.
By the reality of people being displaced — but also by what so often goes unnamed.
Innocent animals.
Land.
Water.
Trees.
Entire living systems torn apart by human greed and the power plays of politicians — so far removed from those who pay the ultimate price.
I look out of my window and see what is at stake.
Little birds weaving through olive trees.
Storm clouds rolling overhead.
Raindrops clinging to the undersides of garden furniture.
The shimmer of the lake, reflecting the grey back to the sky.
Insects, barely visible, flittering through the air.
The quiet, astonishing beauty of a world that simply exists —
without hatred,
without agenda.
My heart feels broken by the division we humans create, and by how easily we destroy what never harmed us.
No other creature is capable of hate.
Only humans.
What hurts most is the fragility of this beauty, and how casually it is sacrificed by those who never feel the consequences of their decisions. And how often we numb ourselves to it all, just to cope.
But perhaps this ache is also a reminder.
That staying tender in a hard world matters.
That kindness is not weakness.
That refusing to dehumanise — and refusing to dominate — is a quiet act of resistance.
I don’t have all the answers. I don’t have a grand platform.
But I believe change begins when we remember that this planet does not belong to us alone.
In how we speak.
In how we protect wildlife.
In how we raise our children.
In how we care for the earth.
In how we treat every living being when no one is watching.
If nothing else, I want to live in a world that doesn’t normalise cruelty.
That protects softness.
That makes room for empathy.
For all life.
That feels like a place to start 🌍🍃💖
