The Cultural Association Open Hardware Ideas Lab (OHILab) was born June 28, 2012 from an idea of five young electronic engineers and has for purpose the promotion and divulgation, in the field of information, of open hardware and open source in all its forms. In collaboration with universities, institutes, cultural organizations, cultural associations, individual actors in the Italian and internat
ional scene the association aims to address the following areas:
- the study, the practice, the development, and the divulgation of projects based on open hardware and open source;
- the organization of training courses in the field of information and licensing;
- the organization of conferences, exhibitions, debates, lectures, seminars, study and work operations concerning both theoretical and technical issues based on the philosophy of software/hardware free and open source;
- the promotion of a culture of collaboration and coworking;
- encourage innovation and the creation of highly innovative projects providing members the tools to achieve this goal.
