🖼FROM HERITAGE TO INNOVATION. The PhD program in Cultural Systems (CS) is shaped for you, integrating academic excellence with an interdisciplinary vocation. It offers the track Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies (CHMS), which aims to provide specific know-how to prospective researchers and professionals by opening career paths in Academia, museums, cultural institutions, creative industries, private companies, and organization /policy-making/ management of culture.

🗝Cultural Heritage and Museums Studies combines theoretical, methodological, and practice-oriented courses with hands-on experiences. Students take part in applied methodology development, research projects, and field trips in direct collaboration with museums, archives, archaeological sites and excavations, gaining firsthand insight into curatorial and managerial practices.

✈️ Students are encouraged to spend part of their following training abroad within the Erasmus+ framework and ad hoc mobility agreements.

🤓 Immaginare l'archivista oggi significa ripensare radicalmente una narrazione che ormai non corrisponde alla realtà. Libri e scaffali polverosi, penombra, umidità, solitudine. Non c'è più niente di vero per una professione che si è evoluta tra tutela e gestione del patrimonio ma anche valorizzazione e ricerca di nuovi percorsi narrativi e pratiche di storytelling, se pensiamo ad esempio ai social media e alla costante richiesta di nuovi contenuti che gli archivi possono alimentare con materiale prezioso. Perché gli archivi sono memoria collettiva.

Imagining the archivist today means radically rethinking a narrative that no longer corresponds to reality. Dusty books and shelves, dim light, humidity, solitude. None of this is true anymore for a profession that has evolved between the protection and management of heritage, but also the promotion and search for new narrative paths and storytelling practices. Yara El Rassi completed her PhD in Social, Cognitive, and Computational Neuroscience at IMT Lucca. She now works as a freelancer based in Matelica, Italy, specializing in psychological data analysis (Consulente Ideale), AI bot analysis training in MATLAB and Python (Outlier), and scientific communication (Skyline Evolution). She holds a Master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Trento and a Bachelor's degree in General Psychology from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
