Premio collaterale al "Miglior Film con Tematiche Omosessuali & Q***r Culture" alla Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica
Q***r Lion is awarded - since 2007 - to the โBest Movie with LGBT Themes & Q***r Cultureโ at the Venice Film Festival Q***r Lion is the trophy awarded, from 2007, to the โBest Movie with GLBT Themes & Q***r Cultureโ among those presented during the Venice International Film Festival. Casagrande for monthly magazine Venezia News, to then-Director of the Venice Film Festival Moritz De Hadeln. De Hadeln if the Venice Film Festival would have welcomed an award meant to specifically honor gay-themed movies, the same way Berlin Film Festival had done 20 years earlier (with Teddy Bear Award). Although the answer was a positive one, the changing of the Festivalโs director, the following year, caused a delay in the development of the project, who was greenlighted anyway by the new director Marco Mรผller, who declared his will to back and sustain the creation of such a new collateral award. Il Q***r Lion Award รจ il premio attribuito, dal 2007, al "Miglior Film con Tematiche Omosessuali & Q***r Culture" presentato alla Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica di Venezia. Lโidea di un Q***r Lion nasce nel 2003 da unโintervista realizzata da Daniel N. Casagrande, presidente dellโassociazione culturale CinemArte, per il mensile Venezia News al direttore della Mostra del Cinema Moritz De Hadeln. In quellโoccasione Casagrande chiese a De Hadeln se anche a Venezia, come giร 20 anni prima a Berlino, avrebbe permesso la nascita di un premio specifico per la cinematografia gay (il Teddy Bear Award). La risposta fu positiva. Ma lโavvicendamento alla direzione della Mostra, avvenuto lโanno successivo, creรฒ un rallentamento del progetto, rilanciato perรฒ dalla volontร dichiarata dal successivo direttore, Marco Mรผller, di sostenere la creazione di questo nuovo premio collaterale.
