🌊💙 A heartfelt thank you to Spiros Fragoyiannis and the entire team of Sandy Beach Resort for their outstanding commitment to protecting the coastal environment.

Together, in a spirit of joy, collaboration and shared responsibility, staff members and resident guests joined forces in a beach clean-up initiative, helping to remove plastic waste from the coastline and preserve the natural beauty of Corfu.

This is a wonderful example of how tourism can become a positive force for the environment, bringing people together to care for the places we love and enjoy.

On the occasion of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, we would like to celebrate the commitment of our friends at The Human Environmental Association for Development (HEAD) and all those who continue to work tirelessly for environmental protection, community engagement, and peace in Lebanon.
On June 7, together with the municipalities of Byblos and Barbara, HEAD is organizing a coastal clean-up campaign as part of the Mediterranean network of Legambiente, which connects organizations across 21 countries in a shared effort to protect the sea and marine ecosystems that unite our region.
At a time when Lebanon continues to face immense challenges, our thoughts are with its people and communities. Lebanon is a beautiful country, rich in history, culture, resilience, and extraordinary human warmth. We stand in solidarity with all those who are suffering and continue to hope and work for a just, lasting, and peaceful future based on human dignity, rights, and mutual respect.
Our support and appreciation also go to the many Lebanese organizations, schools, educators, young activists, and volunteers who, for years, have been building pathways toward peace, environmental protection, and cooperation. Their dedication reminds us that caring for nature and caring for people are deeply connected.
🌱🌊 Cleaning a beach is about much more than removing waste. It is a powerful act of stewardship, responsibility, and hope for future generations. Every action taken to protect our coasts and seas contributes to a healthier, more sustainable, and more peaceful Mediterranean.

The Human Environmental Association for Development (HEAD), in cooperation with the Municipality of Barbara, is organizing a beach cleanup campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the activity is held within the framework of the LeGambiente Mediterranean Network,which spans 21 Countries,on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Barbara Port.

This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness, encourage volunteerism, and contribute to the protection of the coastline and marine environment while promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility within the community.

🌊✨ A heartfelt thank you to Alkyna Lifestyle Beach Resort in Corfu and its incredible staff for their commitment to protecting our seas and coastlines.

Once again, the team has taken action to clean the beaches surrounding the resort, showing that hospitality and environmental responsibility can truly go hand in hand. Their effort is a beautiful example of care, respect, and love for the natural environment that hosts us all.

For this reason, the Clean Up the Med organisational team would like to warmly thank the team of Creta Star Hotel for promoting and carrying out a beach clean-up activity involving guests, staff, and visitors in a shared gesture of care for the sea and the coastline.
