BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD!
(cf. John 1: 29 - 34).

Good morning, friends. Let us kindly pay attention to this passage from today's Gospel: At that time, John, seeing Jesus coming toward him, said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
1. The word "Behold!" is not merely descriptive; it is a word used to unveil a revelation. It is liturgical and prophetic at the same time. In Scripture, "behold" invites the listener to contemplate a divine mystery being unveiled (cf. Is 40:9; Zech 9:9).
2. "The Lamb of God": calling Jesus "Lamb of God" signifies the "Fulfillment of the Sacrifice." John reveals Jesus as the sacrifice accomplished once and for all, making the old sacrifices obsolete (cf. Heb 10:1-14). Jesus is not simply a lamb given to God, but a lamb provided by God (cf. Gen 22:8). This implies that salvation originates from divine initiative, not human effort. God himself provides what humanity cannot.
3. He who takes away the sin of the world: In this statement, sin is defined as "Power, not just Actions." Here, sin refers to the power that caused humanity's fallen condition, alienation from God, and enslavement to death and corruption (cf. Romans 5–8). Thus, John revealed that Jesus' mission was universal redemption. By assuming human nature and living it in perfect obedience, Christ recreates humanity from within. Sin is removed from the root, making holiness possible again.
I wish you all joy, happiness, and love as we continue to meditate on this great gift of salvation we have received from God. Amen. Have a nice day.
