BUILDING TRUST is a non-profit organization, building projects where there is the greatest need!

Our aims include

- New Responses to poverty and environmental problems through design.
- The establishment of architectural projects for individuals or communities lacking in resources.

This week we are back on the Thai- Burmese border building an extension from earth and rice husk blocks for the New road school.

Once complete it will provide GED classes which offer a way for migrant students to enter Thai universities for further education .

A small garden opens up a whole new world. 🌿

In 2024, we helped renovate a sensory learning centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, creating a garden for children with disabilities and the people who care for them.

Today the flowing bamboo canopy continues to provide space to explore sights, sounds, texture, movement and play on each child’s own terms.

For carers, it offers something equally valuable: a peaceful place to breathe, recharge and connect.

Every Building Has A Story.

Meet Aung San Oo, a former student of Love Learning Center in Mae Sot. Following high school, Aung San Oo plans to pursue higher education at a university in Bangkok.

His journey is a reminder of what a safe, inspiring place to learn can help make possible — giving young people the opportunity to continue their education and shape their own futures.

We are very proud to have worked alongside The Heritage Partnership St. James's Place, local builders Ironwood, David Finnerty and Bloomberg Philanthropies to help make this project a reality. Alongside Kanallan - Giving Right Now, Ben Child and Luca.

We are so grateful to everyone involved in this project. From those who helped bring the project to life to everyone who supported the fundraising that made these classrooms possible and the wonderful school community at Love Learning Centre.

A school building is an investment in opportunity, confidence and brighter futures. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these classrooms will have for many years to come.

Every building has a story. This is one of them.

A teacher tomorrow.

Meet Minea. Born on Kulen Mountain, Minea has faced the challenges that come with growing up in a remote community.

She studied at two of our projects in Cambodia - P***l Learning Centre and Kulen Outreach before continuing her education at Angkor High School.

Minea dreams of becoming a teacher so she can support children in her local community.

From the classrooms where students begin their journey, to the futures they imagine for themselves, every building has a story.

This is Minea’s.

Meet Aa Lying Nar Phyo, a Grade 11 student at Ser Thoo Lei School.

Aa Lying Nar Phyo was previously a student at Emmanuelle Migrant Learning Centre, where she began her journey through education. This learning centre was the fifth MOVINGschool located in Mae Sot on the Thailand/Myanmar border.

After graduating from secondary school, she hopes to become an interpreter — using her voice to help Burmese people communicate and be heard.

We love hearing from students about their experiences at our schools, their hopes for the future and the difference education can make along the way.

Green spaces are an important part of a school environment — giving children a place to connect with nature, play, explore and learn beyond the classroom.

Last Friday, the school community were out cleaning and caring for the gardens — bringing the spaces around those classrooms to life and helping create a place for children to learn, play and grow.

Future Garden Learning Center reuses the façade of the EU Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, donated by the EU. The building components were carefully adapted and assembled into classrooms that now provide a place to learn for over 150 children.

What was once part of a global event has become classrooms, shaped by hands on site and the needs of the community.
