One in every 10 children in were subjected to technology-facilitated sexual exploitation and abuse in just one year, according to new research.

More than half of the cases involved someone the child already knew. In one third of instances children first met the perpetrator at school.

These findings challenge the “stranger danger” myth and show how abuse can shift between digital and physical spaces - from social media and messaging apps, to schools and homes.

No child should be blamed, shamed or left to handle abuse alone.
