🇪🇺 Do Europeans feel heard by their governments?

Only 10% in 🇩🇰 say they have no say at all—compared to 40% in 🇭🇷 and 38% in 🇭🇺.
📉 In many countries, most feel they have very little or no influence on what the government does.

Source: The TRUEDEM Online Survey 2025 was conducted in June–July 2025 across 24 EU member states. It targeted the adult population, defined as residents aged 18 and over. In each country, approximately 1,200 respondents were surveyed. Participants were recruited from online panels. Stratified quota sampling was applied based on age (interlocked with gender), region (NUTS), and education. Population benchmarks were taken from the latest Eurostat data.

Quanto siamo soddisfatti del funzionamento del nostro sistema democratico? La ricerca TRUEDEM rivela ancora profonde disparità tra i Paesi europei.

ALL IN ALL, HOW SATISFIED ARE YOU WITH THE WAY DEMOCRACY IS WORKING IN THIS COUNTRY TODAY?

High satisfaction in Nordic countries like Denmark 🇩🇰, Sweden 🇸🇪, and Finland 🇫🇮, where over 60% rate their democracy at 7 or above on a 10-point scale.

Widespread dissatisfaction in Hungary 🇭🇺, Bulgaria 🇧🇬, and Slovakia 🇸🇰, where large shares of citizens rate their democracy at 4 or below. In Hungary, 39% gave it the lowest possible score (1/10).

Poland 🇵🇱 and Germany 🇩🇪 fall somewhere in the middle, but with different skews: Poles are more polarized and lean toward dissatisfaction; Germans more evenly distributed, with moderate trust.

The results highlight stark differences in how democratic institutions are evaluated across EU member states — and how uneven public confidence has become.
