🎬 Active Families for a Healthy Society

A strong society begins with strong families.

With our solidarity project Active Families for a Healthy Society, we are building a movement that empowers families to live actively, connect meaningfully, and grow together.

Supported by the European Solidarity Corps, this 12-month initiative promotes healthy lifestyles, community engagement, and shared responsibility for well-being.

We believe that real change starts at home — in everyday actions, in mutual support, in solidarity across generations.

Because when families are active, communities become resilient. And when communities are resilient, society becomes healthier, stronger, and more united.

This is not just a project. It is a commitment to lasting impact.

🇪🇺 Funded by the European Union.

Healing can take many forms 🎨💙

Within the solidarity project “Healing war trauma: mending minds after war”, supported by the European Union and European Ways e.V., our second meeting opened a new path to self-expression and healing — art therapy.

This time, psychologist Maria Taratunska invited participants to speak without words. Through colors, shapes, and lines, everyone had the chance to see how their inner thoughts, emotions, and experiences could gently appear on paper. What felt confusing inside became visible, tangible, and safer to explore.

There was no “right” or “wrong” way to draw.
No need to explain every feeling.
Just space to create, feel, and notice.

For many participants, the drawings became a quiet dialogue with themselves — a moment of understanding, release, and grounding. Together, we witnessed how creativity can become a bridge between pain and healing, between silence and expression.

Sometimes, healing begins with a pencil in your hand
and permission to feel.

SOLID BEATS – Solidarity Building Events: Awareness, Trust & Safety

We’ve officially launched SOLID BEATS, a solidarity project focused on creating safe and inclusive spaces where people can connect, exchange, and grow together. Through community events and participatory activities, the project strengthens awareness, trust, and safety, especially among young people and local communities.

SOLID BEATS encourages dialogue, mutual respect, and active participation, showing that solidarity is built through shared experiences and real human connections.

We are truly grateful to the European Union, whose support through the European Solidarity Corps made this project possible, and to European Ways e.V. for the trust and partnership that turned this idea into reality.

This is just the beginning — and we’re excited for what’s coming next. 💙

In the framework of the solidarity project “AI & I Solidarity Lab”, co-financed by the EU, we organised a 🚀 Software Engineering Starter Lab with a Discord Bot Workshop for our volunteers.

During the workshop, we took our first steps into software engineering and showed that programming doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating 🤖

Together, we explored how Discord bots work, learned the basics of C #, and started building our own bots, even for participants with no prior coding experience. We also touched on artificial intelligence and its use in programming, discussing how AI can support developers in writing code, debugging, and learning more efficiently.

This was probably the most in-depth IT workshop many of us have ever experienced, and for many participants it was a real challenge. We are very happy to have been given this opportunity.

Within our project “Democracy at the Crossroads: Europe’s Role in a Changing World”, we visited a Leipzig City Council meeting at City Hall 🏛🗳 to see how local democracy works — not in theory, but in real life 👀📜

Participants observed discussions, decision-making processes, and political debates firsthand. It offered a clear insight into how citizens’ interests are represented and negotiated at the municipal level.

🔑 Democracy becomes real when you see it in action. For people new to the system, understanding local governance builds trust, civic awareness, and motivation to participate.

This visit turned abstract concepts into lived experience — showing that democracy is something you can watch, question, and actively engage with.

📌 This project is co-financed by the 🇪🇺 European Union and supported by European Ways e.V. in Leipzig.

Healing begins where safety exists 💙

Within the solidarity project “Healing war trauma: mending minds after war”, supported by the European Union and European Ways e.V., we invited professional psychologist Maria Taratunska to create a safe space for people who have experienced war, violence, and trauma.

Participants listened to each other, listened to themselves, and to their own bodies. Together, they searched for and found ways to feel grounded again. Through Maria’s gentle guidance, simple stabilization techniques, and shared presence, a supportive circle was formed where healing can begin — at your own pace.

You don’t need to explain everything.
You don’t need to be “strong.”
You are not alone.
You just need a place where you can breathe.
