📘 Beyond Words – Painting Europe with life and hope: A colour manual for young people against hate and discrimination
What happens when young people from different countries come together to explore human rights, diversity and inclusion?
They create ideas, friendships... and resources that can continue inspiring others.
Beyond Words is the educational booklet developed during our Erasmus+ Youth Exchange. Throughout the project, participants explored topics such as hate speech, discrimination, diversity and active citizenship through non-formal education, transforming their learning experiences into practical activities and creative tools that anyone can use.
Rather than being a theoretical guide, this booklet offers interactive methods, reflection exercises and educational activities designed for young people, youth workers, teachers and educators who want to promote inclusion and challenge discrimination in their communities.
Organised around five symbolic colours, each section represents a different way of taking action:
🎨 Experiential – understanding others through empathy and shared experiences.
💡 Creative – using creativity, media and storytelling to counter hate.
🤝 Community – strengthening dialogue, participation and mutual understanding.
📢 Activist – encouraging young people to become active citizens and create positive change.
🎭 Artistic – expressing inclusion and diversity through art and culture.
More than a booklet, Beyond Words is an invitation to transform ideas into action and to show that small initiatives can contribute to building more respectful, inclusive and supportive communities.
💙 We hope it will inspire many more young people to become ambassadors of diversity, equality and human rights.
