Annual Supervisory Board Meeting - 22 April 2026

IIGM - Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine had the pleasure of organizing an intensive and stimulating scientific activity for the ColoMARK DN project, a Marie Curie Doctoral network, involving 10 PhD candidates (biologists and bioinformaticians under 35) and their supervisors (in total 9 researchers) active in the field of colorectal cancer.

Alessio Naccarati and Barbara Pardini (researchers at IIGM) were the organizers as part of the ColoMARK board. Also the researchers of Naccarati's group, composed of 12 young scientists including PhD students and postdocs, was present.

The event was further enriched by contributions from three internationally renowned speakers: Prof. Paolo Vineis (Professor of Environmental Epidemiology at Imperial College London and Emeritus Scientist at IIGM), Dr. Giulio Ferrero, a young researcher from the Università degli Studi di Torino, and Dr. Carlo Senore (Head of colorectal cancer screening for prevention in Piedmont).

Grazie a bioPmed e a tutti i partecipanti!

🔬 | Welcoming New Minds @ IIGM

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Paolo Armando Gagliardi (Università degli Studi di Torino, Department of Oncology) to IIGM - Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine, as part of the ongoing collaboration among the University of Turin and IIGM.

At IIGM, Prof. Gagliardi will lead the Cancer Cell Dynamics research line and drive the AIRC-funded project:
“Leveraging single-cell and collective ERK dynamics to advance drug combinations for KRAS-mutated cancers”

🔍 The goal: to better understand how cancer cells behave over time and use this knowledge to design more effective combination therapies.
📊 Discover more in the graphical abstract!

His arrival opens new directions for innovation at IIGM, and strengthens the ties between IIGM and the University of Turin.

Welcome to IIGM!

🎯 We are proud to share that two IIGM - Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine teams are participating in the 9-month Conception X programme, a leading initiative supporting researchers in building deeptech startups from cutting-edge science.

As part of the programme, our teams recently joined the 2-day in-person Bootcamp in London at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an intensive experience exploring how scientific research can evolve into viable ventures.

It was a valuable opportunity to exchange with brilliant deeptech founders from leading research institutions across Europe, discussing approaches to market validation, technology positioning, and venture development.

We look forward to following the progress of our teams over the coming months!
