🇯🇵 From Japan to Sweden with Referee Abroad! 🌍⚽

This summer, Referee Abroad welcomed five young referees from the Japan Football Association (JFA) to Gothenburg, Sweden, where they joined our international refereeing programme at the Gothia Cup - The World Youth Cup.

And now you can follow their journey! 🎥

JFA followed the five referees throughout their experience and has released a 36-minute episode of its Referee Cam series, showing their matches, the challenges they faced, the feedback they received and their development during the week.

For us at Referee Abroad, this is what international refereeing is all about.

Travelling abroad to referee is much more than adding matches to your experience. It means stepping outside your usual environment, meeting and working alongside referees from different countries, learning from experienced international mentors and experiencing football from a completely different perspective.

We are proud to have been part of their journey and would like to thank the Japan Football Association for their trust and cooperation.

And, of course, congratulations to the five referees who travelled all the way from Japan and embraced the experience in Gothenburg. We hope this was just one step in a much longer international journey! 🇯🇵🤝🌍
