🌿 The journey of Greening the Hubs continues: next stop is Helsinki! 🇫🇮

From 2–4 Sept, the project partners will gather in Helsinki for the 4th Training Hotspot, hosted by Kaapelitehdas, to explore its sustainability model through expert talks, site visits and peer-learning activities, while exploring inspiring local case studies across Helsinki.

The programme includes sessions on energy efficiency, sustainable festival practices and creative reuse initiatives.

Greening the Hubs is featured in: 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜: 𝚂𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚌𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚎, 𝚌𝚘𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚊𝚌𝚝 𝚊𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚜 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚓𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚜 (2021–2024), a new EACEA publication bringing together 50 .eu -funded projects across five key themes: democracy, youth, digital transformation, sustainability and new models in the cultural sector.

♻️ III Training Hotspot – Bratislava

A few weeks after the event, we’re happy to share the report from our third Training Hotspot.

From 20 to 22 May, Greening the Hubs partners gathered in Bratislava, where hosted three days of exchange, discovery and hands-on learning centred around the role of communities in driving sustainable change.

Through site visits, workshops and conversations with local practitioners, participants explored initiatives focused on circular economy, reuse, composting, regenerative landscapes and community-led urban transformation.

From turning construction waste into new public spaces to growing mushrooms on recovered local materials, the programme highlighted practical approaches that connect sustainability, creativity and collective action.

Each activity offered a different perspective on how cultural hubs can become places where environmental responsibility and community engagement grow together.

Alongside the programme, shared meals, informal conversations and collaborative activities created space for new connections, fresh ideas and lasting partnerships across Europe.

♻️ II Training Hotspot – Barcelona

From 11 to 13 March, partners of the Greening the Hubs project gathered in Barcelona for the second Training Hotspot, hosted by TransfoLAB BCN @

Over three days, participants explored circularity and material innovation from waste through workshops, site visits and moments of exchange, sharing practices and learning from local initiatives.

Beyond the training, these days were also about building connections, strengthening a growing network of creative hubs working together towards a more sustainable future.

The online materials developed within our Capacity Building programme are now available on our website! 🌿

Over the past months, we curated a collection of tools and resources created by EU projects and organisations working on culture and sustainability, including MOOCs, recorded workshops, podcasts and practical guidelines.

The modules explore three interconnected areas:
- Impact Awareness
- Community Engagement
- Business Innovation

You can also access the video podcasts of the workshops with our invited trainers, who accompanied our pilot group of sustainability managers in developing new approaches for their hubs.
