On November 24th, the IOV WORLD membership subscription service was activated in the office provided by CICHO in Sharjah, UAE. This is great news. A big thank you to CFO Mr. Henk Hujser and Treasurer Mrs. Clara Hamoen for their commitment to training those in charge of all the necessary procedures. Details will follow for members via email. A meeting was also held with HE Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam and Dr. Saqr Mohamed Director of the Branches and centres Administration to plan future activities in collaboration with SIH and CICHO. The IOV WORLD Secretary General conveyed greetings from President Emma Chen Ping and the Board of Directors. More news will follow. Follow us with your likes.

A big celebration in Romania. With the Chair of the IOV National Section, Andrei Gabor from Deva, and Vice Chair, Ciprian Fenéa from Turda. IOV Secretary General Fabrizio Cattaneo and the Chair of the IOV Moldova Section, Prof. Jon Benchechi, also participated. The evening concluded with celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Silvana folk group and the Dragan Muntean cultural center. Happy birthday, Silvana, and best wishes to IOV ROMANIA.

Nomina della nuova Presidente mondiale IOV

La Commissione Comunicazione di IOV Italia Section Partner Unesco informa con profonda partecipazione che, in data 15 ottobre 2025, il Presidente mondiale IOV International Organization of Folk Art, Prof. Ali Abdullah Khalifa, ha rassegnato le proprie dimissioni per motivi di salute.

Il Consiglio di Amministrazione, riunitosi nella stessa giornata, ha deliberato – come previsto dall’articolo 11.4 dello Statuto IOV – la nomina all’unanimità della Prof.ssa Emma Chen Ping quale nuova Presidente mondiale dell’organizzazione, con incarico fino alle prossime elezioni del World General Assembly (WGA) previste per il 2027.

La Commissione esprime profonda gratitudine al Prof. Khalifa per l’impegno e la dedizione dimostrati nel corso del suo mandato, e rivolge alla Prof.ssa Emma Chen Ping i migliori auguri per un percorso ricco di successi e serenità alla guida dell’IOV.

Con questa transizione, IOV rinnova il proprio impegno nella promozione del patrimonio culturale immateriale e nella valorizzazione delle tradizioni popolari a livello globale.

Dear friends and members of IOV WORLD, I cannot describe my state of mind, sad, tearful, and suffering as I announce that, due to serious health problems, the dear and beloved IOV World President, Prof. Ali Abdullah Khalifa, has resigned. Today, October 15, the Board of Directors met and, as required by Article 11.4 of the IOV BYLAWS, after a lengthy discussion, Prof. Emma Chen Ping was unanimously appointed as the new World President of IOV. We sincerely thank Emma for accepting the role of leading the organization until the elections to be held at the 2027 WGA. We wish her continued success and peace in the growth of the organization. This news fills me with joy and hope.
