Benevento nasce ufficialmente nel 2002 per iniziativa di alcuni studenti di ritorno dal programma Erasmus. Il nome fu successivamente cambiato, nel 2006, in E.S.N. Maleventum per richiamare l’importanza storica della città. Grazie alla loro esperienza, i ragazzi ESN aiutano, con consigli e informazioni utili, sia chi intende partire per un programma di scambio e sia chi viene a vivere a Benevento

da Erasmus. Contattare ESN prima della partenza, per un periodo più o meno lungo di mobilità, permette di avere maggiori informazioni sull’esperienza all’estero e un aiuto concreto per superare le maggiori difficoltà burocratiche. Ogni anno la sezione beneventana vede crescere il proprio numero di soci, con una media annua (fin’ora) di 200 iscritti. ESN Maleventum è l’unica sezione ufficialmente riconosciuta dall’Università degli Studi del Sannio. La sede legale, infatti, è ubicata proprio all’interno dell’Ufficio Ricerca e Relazioni Internazionali. E`, inoltre, l’unica sul territorio ad organizzare attività ed eventi rivolti agli studenti stranieri e non, in possesso della tessera ESN.
