This Memorial Day, we are reminded that each fold of a flag holds meaning. The final fold however, the one right before the flag is cradled and handed to a grieving family, says what words cannot.

We pause in silence for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We honor their memory, their families, and the weight of every fold that tells their story.

We will never forget.

Today, we celebrate 145 years of service, compassion, and humanitarian support from the American Red Cross. Since its founding by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881, the American Red Cross has remained dedicated to helping people in need through disaster relief, emergency assistance, and support to members of the Armed Forces and their families.

For nearly a century and a half, Red Cross volunteers have answered the call during some of the world’s most difficult moments, putting service above self to provide hope, comfort, and lifesaving support to communities around the globe. Their commitment and compassion continue to make a lasting impact every single day.

The American Red Cross proudly hosted the Resilience in Women Panel, bringing together women from across the installation for an inspiring and meaningful conversation on resilience, leadership, mentorship, allyship, military culture, and the realities of service.

This event highlighted the strength and experiences of women serving today while creating a space for connection, support, and open dialogue within our military community. Thank you to all of our panelists and attendees who helped make this event impactful and empowering.
