Today, Lucia Fanfani and her intern, Kelli Jo Burgess, visited a local school in Arezzo for a special English classroom exchange.

Kelli Jo, originally from the United States, introduced herself to the students and shared a little about life and culture in America. The class was full of curiosity, students asked questions, practiced their English, and proudly spoke about their own countries, including Pakistan, the Dominican Republic, Morocco, the Philippines, and others.

Although their English is already strong, hearing and interacting with a native speaker gave them the opportunity to experience the language in a new and authentic way.

A short visit, but a meaningful one, reminding us how education connects cultures and builds understanding.

Today, Fondazione Monnalisa participated in the presentation of the project “Plurilinguismo e mediazione a scuola”, promoted by the University of Siena in collaboration with IC IV Novembre in Arezzo.

The project focused on multilingualism and linguistic mediation in schools, involving several classes in workshops dedicated to inclusion and dialogue.

Fondazione Monnalisa was represented by Lucia Fanfani, who attended the event at the Campus del Pionta.

An important opportunity to reflect on the role of language and mediation in supporting young students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

As partners of the ECHO Project, Fondazione Monnalisa is proud to support projects that use creativity as a tool for inclusion.
But what actually happens inside an ECHO theatre workshop? 👀

Through socio-drama techniques like role-play and playback theatre, participants don’t just listen, they move, collaborate, and express themselves. These workshops are built as a “Brave Space,” where trust is developed through shared creative exercises and meaningful interaction.

Inclusion isn’t just talked about, it is practiced. Step by step, activity by activity, barriers are broken down and connections are built.
We are honored to contribute to a project that turns theatre into a powerful instrument for dialogue, empathy, and integration.

On November 18–19, 2025, partners from Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain gathered in Valladolid for the Kick-off Meeting, hosted by Asociación La Bien Pagá Espacio Escénico.

It was two days of energy, collaboration, and creativity and the WP2, The Theatre of Inclusion, will bring theatre directly into communities:

🎭 Workshops where young migrants and local youth create together, breaking barriers through stories and performance.

🌍 Local shows that turn these voices into powerful acts of dialogue and inclusion.

🤝 Transnational exchanges to share methods and build a European network of creative empowerment.

🎥 Videos and reports to spread the impact far beyond the stage

📢 The stage is ready. The voices are alive. Change is on stage.
