The Sumereen project is a local project funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program through the project "Supporting the stability and recovery of Iraq through local development", in cooperation with the government of Dhi Qar and the organization.

استقرار وتعافي العراق عبر التنمية المحلية"، بالتعاون مع حكومة ذي قار ومنظمة . The Sumereen project works on many issues related to heritage and cultural heritage in Dhi Qar Governorate, where it carried out a series of restorations on the city of the Prophet Ibrahim, "the ancient city of Ur" and also contributed to empowering young people in many workshops, including:
1- Enki handicraft workshop, which is a workshop that teaches a group of young people to make handicrafts and traditional models.
2- The boat-making workshop, which is a workshop that contributes to educating a group of young people to make boats and take care of them, and to promote and revive this profession.
3- A workshop for making sweets from dates, which is a workshop targeting women in the manufacture of sweets, since dates are included in the field of heritage, especially when the ancient people of Iraq used them in the food industry.
4- Heritage workshop, which contributes to empowering young people and educating them to make hostels in the old traditional way.
5- Al-Jbayish Sports Club, which is about training and educating young people and gathering them in organizing competitions and sports activities in the field of river boats.
6- On-the-job training, which is a program in which we selected a group of applicants to be employees of organizations and companies under training for a period of six months and with a monthly salary. And many of the community activities and events held by this project.
يعمل مشروع سومريونو على العديد من القضايا التي تخصّ التراث والإرث الحضاري في محافظة ذي قار، حيث قام بمجموعة ترميمات على مدينة النبي ابراهيم "مدينة أور الأثرية" وأيضا ساهم بتمكين الشباب في العديد من الورش منها :
1- ورشة انكي للحرف اليدوية وهي ورشة تعلم مجموعة من الشباب على صناعة الحرف اليدوية والمجسمات التراثية .
2- ورشة صناعة القوارب وهي ورشة تساهم بتعليم مجموعة من الشباب على صناعة القوارب والاهتمام بها وتعزيز هذه المهنة وإعادة إحيائها.
3- ورشة صناعة الحلويات من التمور وهي ورشة تستهدف النساء في صناعة الحلويات كون التمور تدخل في مجال التراث وخاصة حينما كان أهالي العراق القدامى يستخدمونها في صناعة الأغذية.
4- ورشة التراث والتي تساهم بتمكين الشباب وتعليمهم على صناعة المضايف بالطريقة التقليدية القديمة.
5- نادي الجبايش الرياضي وهو عبارة عن تدريب وتعليم الشباب وجمعهم في اقامة المسابقات والأنشطة الرياضية في مجال القوارب النهرية.
6- التدريب أثناء العمل والذي هو برنامج اخترنا فيه مجموعة من المتقدمين ليكونوا موظفين في منظمات وشركات تحت التدريب لمدة ستة شهر وبراتب شهري.
والعديد من الأنشطة والفعاليات المجتمعية التي يقيمها هذا المشروع.
