يعد ضمان مشاركة المرأة في القوى العاملة أمرا ضروريا، حيث يبلغ المتوسط العالمي لمشاركة المرأة في الدول النامية 50% مقارنة بـ 80% للرجال، كما أن متوسط المشاركة أقل بكثير في دول الشرق الأوسط حيث يبلغ حوالي 20%. ومع ذلك، قام عدد من البلدان مثل المملكة العربية السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة والكويت بإجراء إصلاحات لإزالة الحواجز التي تحول دون عمل المرأة ومشاركتها في الاقتصاد.
Ensuring women's participation in the workforce is essential, as the global average for women's participation in developing countries is 50%, compared to 80% for men, and the average participation is much lower in Middle Eastern countries, at about 20%. However, a number of countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait have implemented reforms to remove barriers to women's employment and participation in the economy.
