The ARD is a local non-governmental civil society organization concerned with community issues in Iraq, working in the field of relief, development and peacebuilding. مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية، هي منظمة مجتمع مدني تأسست من أجل أن تساهم بتعزيز السلام والإستقرار في العراق وخاصة بعد الظروف التي مرّ بها العراق من مشاكل وحروب وسيطرة المجاميع الإرهابية والمتطرفة على عدد من المحافظات العراقية، ومن هذا المنطلق تحرّك مجموعة من الشباب من أجل تأسيس هذه المؤسسة وجعلها مركزا لتقديم الخدمات الإغاثية منها " الخدمات المجتمعية، تعزيز السلام والإستقرار ، الترويج للتماسك الإجتماعي ونبذ التطرف وخطابات الكراهية، العمل على المناهج والتعليم وإعادة الإعمار، العمل على قضايا العنف ومعالجتها، العمل على تعزيز دور المرأة والشباب في المجتمع، العمل على صيانة وحفظ حقوق الإنسان في العراق. The Iraqi Ashur Foundation for Relief and Development is a civil society organization that was established in order to contribute to the promotion of peace and stability in Iraq, especially after the conditions that Iraq experienced from problems and wars and the control of terrorist and extremist groups over a number of Iraqi provinces, and from this point a group of young people moved to establish This institution and made it a center for providing relief services, including “community services, promoting peace and stability, promoting social cohesion and rejecting extremism and hate speech, working on curricula, education and reconstruction, working on and addressing violence issues, working to strengthen the role of women and youth in society, working on maintaining and preserving Human rights in Iraq.

في إطار الاستجابة لتحديات شح المياه والحاجة إلى تطوير القطاع الزراعي، اختُتمت مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية في قضاء بعقوبة برنامج التدريب المهني المتخصص في الزراعة الحديثة وتقنيات الري الموفرة للمياه، بمشاركة 15 شاباً وشابة.
تضمّن البرنامج التدريبي تطوير المهارات الفنية من ناحية دمج المعرفة النظرية بالتطبيق العملي لتقنيات الري الحديث والاستخدام الكفوء للموارد، الإرشاد والربط بسوق العمل من ناحية تقديم التوجيه المهني والتواصل مع مرشدين محليين لاستكشاف الفرص والمشاريع الزراعية الواعدة والتمكين الاقتصادي من أجل دعم سبل العيش المستدامة وتعزيز قدرة المجتمعات المحلية على التكيف مع التحديات البيئية والاقتصادية.

- Sustainable Agriculture and Economic Empowerment, Capacity Building for Youth in Diyala!
In response to water scarcity challenges and the urgent need to advance the agricultural sector, the ARD successfully concluded a specialized vocational training program on modern agriculture and water-saving irrigation techniques in Baqubah District, with the participation of 15 young men and women.
The training program focused on key pillars: Technical Skill Development: Integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications of modern irrigation technologies and efficient resource management, Mentorship and Job Market Linkages: Providing career counseling and connecting participants with local mentors to explore promising agricultural opportunities and projects, Economic Empowerment: Supporting sustainable livelihoods and enhancing the resilience of local communities against environmental and economic challenges.
This activity was implemented by the ARD as part of the project "Strengthening Resilience and Social Cohesion in Conflict-Affected Communities in Diyala Governorate – Baqubah District", in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

- 30 فريقًا، 3 بطولات ورسالة واحدة: الرياضة تجمعنا!

منذ انطلاق كأس التماسك المجتمعي 2026 في حزيران، تحوّل الملعب في ديالى إلى مساحة للحوار والتعارف وبناء الثقة، إلى جانب المنافسة الرياضية.

على مدى أربعة أشهر، جمعت المبادرة 30 فريقًا من مختلف مناطق المحافظة ضمن ثلاث بطولات متتالية، بواقع 10 فرق في كل بطولة، واختُتمت فعالياتها في 7 تشرين الأول 2026.

ثلاث بطولات، عشرات المباريات، وشباب من خلفيات ومناطق مختلفة، اجتمعوا حول رسالة واحدة: الرياضة يمكن أن تكون جسراً للتقارب والتماسك المجتمعي.

من صافرة البداية حتى المباراة الأخيرة، حملت البطولة شعار: "بالرياضة نبني الجسور، وبالتعايش نصنع مستقبلنا".

وفي ختام الكأس تكوّنت صداقات وتعزّزت الثقة والمساحات الآمنة التي أتاحت للشباب أن يلتقوا ويتفاعلوا بعيدًا عن الاختلافات.

- 30 Teams, 3 Tournaments, and One Message: Sport Brings Us Together!

Since the launch of the Community Cohesion Cup 2026 in June, the pitch in Diyala has transformed into a space for dialogue, acquaintance, and trust-building, alongside athletic competition.
Over four months, the initiative brought together 30 teams from various parts of the governorate across three consecutive tournaments featuring 10 teams in each concluding its activities on October 7, 2026.
Three tournaments, dozens of matches, and youth from diverse backgrounds and areas, all united around a single message: sport can serve as a bridge for rapprochement and community cohesion.
From the opening whistle to the final match, the tournament carried the motto: "Through sport we build bridges, and through coexistence we shape our future."
By the conclusion of the Cup, lasting friendships were forged, trust was strengthened, and safe spaces were established, allowing young people to connect and interact beyond their differences.

- تعزيز التماسك المجتمعي وبناء السلام: تمكين الفاعلين المحليين في البصرة!

نظّمت مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية ورشة تدريبية حول التماسك الاجتماعي وبناء السلام والوساطة المجتمعية في قضاء الزبير بمحافظة البصرة.
شارك في الورشة التدريبية أكثر من خمسة وعشرين فاعلًا مجتمعيًا وناشطًا من الشباب والنساء، حيث ركز التدريب على تطوير مهارات تحليل النزاعات وتفكيكها، والتفاوض والوساطة المجتمعية، وتصميم مبادرات تعزيز الثقة والعيش المشترك.
واعتمدت الورشة بصورة أساسية على التطبيقات العملية والعمل الجماعي التفاعلي، بما أتاح للمشاركين تحويل المعارف المكتسبة إلى حلول ومبادرات قابلة للتطبيق.
وأسفرت التدريبات عن تطوير مبادرات مجتمعية واعدة تتناول القضايا البيئية، ومناهضة خطاب الكراهية، وتعزيز الأمن المجتمعي.
وأظهرت التقييمات القبلية والبعدية تحسنًا ملموسًا في المعارف والمهارات، إذ ارتفع متوسط الاستيعاب المعرفي من 65% قبل التدريب إلى 89% بعده.
وفي إطار مواصلة بناء القدرات، تم ترشيح عدد من المشاركين المتميزين للانتقال إلى ورش التدريب المتقدمة في أربيل، دعمًا لدورهم في قيادة المبادرات ومنصات الحوار المجتمعي.
يأتي هذا النشاط ضمن مشروع "نبني معاً: بناء السلام والثقة المحلية" الذي تنفّذه مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية بالشراكة مع جمعية الأمل العراقية ومنظمة أنا بصري وبتمويل من الوزارة الاتحادية الألمانية للتعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية عبر بنك التنمية الألماني.
- Strengthening Social Cohesion and Peacebuilding: Empowering Local Actors in Basra!

The ARD organized a training workshop on social cohesion, peacebuilding, and community mediation in the Al-Zubair district of Basra Governorate.
The workshop brought together over twenty-five local community actors and youth and women activists. The training focused on developing skills in conflict analysis and de-escalation, negotiation, community mediation, and the design of initiatives that promote trust and peaceful coexistence.
Built primarily around practical applications and interactive teamwork, the workshop enabled participants to translate acquired knowledge into actionable solutions and initiatives.
The training culminated in the development of promising community initiatives addressing environmental issues, countering hate speech, and enhancing community security.
Pre- and post-training evaluations demonstrated a tangible improvement in knowledge and skills, with the average level of comprehension rising from 65% prior to the training to 89% upon its completion.
To ensure continuous capacity building, several outstanding participants were selected to advance to higher-level training workshops in Erbil, supporting their role in leading future initiatives and community dialogue platforms.
This activity is part of the project "Nabni Together: Peacebuilding and Local Trust," implemented by the ARD in partnership with the Iraqi Al-Amal Association and Ana Basri Organization, and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the KfW Development Bank.

- Green Technology Opens New Horizons for Diyala’s Youth!
Within the framework of supporting sustainable energy solutions and enhancing inclusive employment opportunities for youth, the ARD in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Vocational Training in Diyala Governorate, concluded a specialized vocational training program in the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems.
The training program focused on equipping young cadres with theoretical knowledge and advanced practical skills, enhancing their physical and technical capabilities to enable them to keep pace with the demands of the thriving local labor market in the clean energy sector.
The training combined theoretical fundamentals with direct field application to ensure full readiness, included guidance and counseling sessions organized in collaboration with local experts and mentors, and assisted graduates in marketing their skills, building professional networks, and exploring available opportunities for a smooth transition from training to professional practice.
This activity was implemented by the ARD as part of the project "Strengthening Resilience and Social Cohesion in Conflict-Affected Communities in Diyala Governorate – Baqubah District", in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

- لأن الملعب يتسع لأحلامنا، ولأن الرياضة مساحة تجمعنا وتلهمنا جميعاً!

تحت شعار "الرياضة تجمعنا والتعايش يقوّينا"، اختتمت مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية فعاليات "كأس التماسك المجتمعي 2026" للفتيات في قضاء بعقوبة ، بالتعاون مع مديرية الشباب والرياضة واللجنة الفرعية لمكافحة التطرف العنيف في ديالى.
هذه البطولة كانت عبارة عن منصة تمكين تجمع الشابات لبناء الجسور، تعزيز الثقة، وترسيخ قيم الصمود والتكاتف بين أطياف المجتمع.
على مدار ثلاثة أشهر شهدت الملاعب عدّة بطولات متتالية جمعت فرقة شعبية نسوية تقودها الفتيات بروح الإصرار والتغيير؛ ليصبح كل هدف يُسجَّل خطوة عملية نحو ترسيخ قيم الاحترام والتعايش السلمي.
نُفذ هذا النشاط من قبل مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية (ARD) ضمن مشروع "تعزيز الصمود والتماسك الاجتماعي في المجتمعات المتأثرة بالنزاع في محافظة ديالى – قضاء بعقوبة"، بالشراكة مع الجمعية الألمانية لمكافحة الجوع في العالم (Welthungerhilfe - WHH) وبدعم من الوزارة الاتحادية الألمانية للتعاون الاقتصادي والتنمية (BMZ).

Under the slogan "Sports Unite Us… Coexistence Strengthens Us," the ARD concluded the activities of the "Community Cohesion Cup 2026" for girls in Baqubah district, in cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Sub-Committee for Countering Violent Extremism in Diyala.
This tournament served as an empowering platform bringing young women together to build bridges, enhance trust, and reinforce the values of resilience and solidarity across all segments of society.
Over three months, the pitches hosted several consecutive tournaments that brought together grassroots women's teams led by girls driven by determination and change—turning every goal scored into a practical step toward deep-rooting the values of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
This activity was implemented by the ARD as part of the project "Strengthening Resilience and Social Cohesion in Conflict-Affected Communities in Diyala Governorate – Baqubah District", in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

- لأن الملعب يتسع لأحلامنا، ولأن الرياضة مساحة تجمعنا وتلهمنا جميعاً!

تحت شعار "الرياضة تجمعنا والتعايش يقوّينا"، اختتمت مؤسسة آشور العراقية للإغاثة والتنمية فعاليات "كأس التماسك المجتمعي 2026" للفتيات في قضاء بعقوبة ، بالتعاون مع مديرية الشباب والرياضة واللجنة الفرعية لمكافحة التطرف العنيف في ديالى.
هذه البطولة كانت عبارة عن منصة تمكين تجمع الشابات لبناء الجسور، تعزيز الثقة، وترسيخ قيم الصمود والتكاتف بين أطياف المجتمع.
على مدار ثلاثة أشهر شهدت الملاعب عدّة بطولات متتالية جمعت فرقة شعبية نسوية تقودها الفتيات بروح الإصرار والتغيير؛ ليصبح كل هدف يُسجَّل خطوة عملية نحو ترسيخ قيم الاحترام والتعايش السلمي.
