As part of the coverage by Rudaw Health, tests are being conducted on-site, and the reporter spoke with some of the women who were being examined to hear their experiences.

One of the women shared her feedback after completing the test. When asked how the experience was, she said it was very good and thanked God for the service.

When asked what encouraged her to come for the examination today, she explained that she had been experiencing pain in her left breast for 3 or 4 years, but her children had previously reassured her that everything was fine. She decided to come today to check and ensure her health.

She was also asked about the fact that the test is provided free of charge and close to her location. She expressed her gratitude for the service.

When asked about the waiting time, she confirmed that the process was quick and very convenient. She also stated that she was not afraid of the examination and felt comfortable during the process.

According to statistics from Nanakali Hospital in recent years, especially over the past two years in Erbil Governorate, there have been approximately 1,124 breast cancer patients registered at Nanakali Hospital.

The report encouraged women to visit the Primary Healthcare Centre and undergo screening tests for early detection and prevention.

At NMDC, we are pleased to share the coverage by Rudaw Health regarding the recent health and humanitarian awareness activity held at the Dashti Hawler Directorate of Health.
In their report, Rudaw Health highlighted the Mobile Cancer Screening Unit, which provides early breast cancer screening services, including mammography and ultrasound examinations, completely free of charge for women.
During the coverage, Dr. Hiwa Alayi, Director of the Dashti Hawler Directorate of Health, acknowledged the Mobile Cancer Screening Unit and explained that this initiative is an idea of a charitable organization implemented in cooperation with Erbil Preventive Health Affairs and in coordination with the Dashti Hawler Directorate of Health that cover a wide geographical area.
As stated in the report, Dr. Hiwa described the Mobile Unit as the first initiative of its kind — a unique and blessed approach that brings screening services directly to communities. He emphasized that offering free screenings across such a broad geographical area, through a fully equipped mobile truck providing mammography and ultrasound services, is a rare initiative.
He also encouraged all women not to feel afraid or shy, but to come forward and benefit from the service. The mobile truck can be relocated to different areas to make screening accessible, especially for women who previously could not afford the costs or had difficulty reaching specialized centres.
According to the report, specialist doctors are available to review the scans, which are collected and read every Thursday inside the mobile unit.
We sincerely appreciate Dr. Hiwa Alayi and Rudaw Health for highlighting and supporting this important humanitarian initiative that aims to make early detection accessible to all women, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Through a partnership with Pirmam Hospital and the Pirmam Education Directorate, NMDC delivered puberty and adolescent health education to 620 students across 7 schools in Pirmam district, Erbil Governorate, from 18 January to 3 February 2026.

High engagement and feedback emphasized the importance of sustained, community-based health education for adolescents.

بە هاوکاری نەخۆشخانەی پیرمام و بەڕێوەبەرایەتیی پەروەردەی پیرمام، ناوەندی NMDC وانەی تەندروستیی دەربارەی گەشەکردن و تەمەنی لاوان بە 620 قوتابی لە 7 قوتابخانە لە قەزای پیرمام لە پارێزگای هەولێر پێشکەش کرد. ئەم بەرنامەیە لە ڕۆژی 18ی کانوونی دووەمەوە تا 3ی شوباتی 2026 بەڕێوەچوو.

وقد عكست المشاركة الواسعة وردود الفعل الإيجابية الحاجة الماسة إلى تعزيز واستدامة برامج التوعية الصحية المجتمعية للمراهقين.
