تتابع منظمة سما للدعم النفسي والاجتماعي وحقوق الإنسان بقلق بالغ ما تم تداوله مؤخراً حول المقبرة الجماعية المكتشفة في منطقة الصقلاوية بمحافظة الأنبار، والتي تشير المعلومات الأولية إلى احتوائها على أعداد كبيرة من الضحايا الذين فقدوا خلال سنوات النزاع والعنف التي شهدها العراق، لاسيما خلال الفترة الممتدة بين عامي 2014 – 2016.
إن ملف المقابر الجماعية في العراق يُعد من أكثر الملفات الإنسانية حساسية وألماً، لما يحمله من معاناة مستمرة لآلاف العائلات التي ما زالت تبحث عن مصير أبنائها المفقودين. وعليه، فإن التعامل مع هذا الملف يجب أن يكون بمنتهى المسؤولية الإنسانية والقانونية، بعيداً عن أي استغلال سياسي أو إعلامي أو محاولات لإثارة الانقسام والفتنة بين أبناء الشعب العراقي.
وتؤكد المنظمة أن دماء الضحايا فوق جميع الخلافات والانتماءات، وأن أي محاولة لتغيير الحقائق أو توجيه الاتهامات دون الاعتماد على الأدلة العلمية والتحقيقات الرسمية يمثل إساءة مباشرة لكرامة الضحايا وحقوق ذويهم، ويزيد من تعقيد هذا الملف الإنساني المؤلم.
كما عملت المنظمة على مدى سنوات بشكل مباشر مع عوائل الضحايا والمفقودين، وكانت شاهدة على حجم الألم والجرح النفسي العميق الذي خلفه اختفاء أحبائهم، وما ترتب عليه من معاناة نفسية واجتماعية وإنسانية مستمرة أثقلت كاهل آلاف العائلات العراقية. وتؤمن المنظمة أن التعامل الإنساني مع هذا الملف يجب أن يضع احتياجات العائلات وحقها في معرفة الحقيقة والعدالة في مقدمة الأولويات، بعيداً عن أي خطاب تحريضي أو استغلال سياسي.
كما تدعو المنظمة الجهات الأمنية والحكومة المحلية والجهات القضائية المختصة إلى الإسراع في كشف الحقيقة بشكل مهني وشفاف، من خلال إجراء تحاليل الحمض النووي (DNA) واعتماد الأدلة الجنائية والرسمية، والخروج بموقف واضح يوضح الحقائق للرأي العام، خاصة في ظل تداول بعض التقارير والمعلومات غير المؤكدة التي ساهمت في إثارة الجدل والبلبلة المجتمعية.
وتشدد منظمة سما على أهمية احترام الإجراءات القانونية والفنية المعتمدة في التعامل مع المقابر الجماعية، بما يشمل أعمال التوثيق، ورفع الرفات، وتحليل الحمض النووي (DNA)، والتنسيق مع الجهات المختصة لضمان تحديد هويات الضحايا بشكل مهني يحفظ حقوق العائلات ويمنع التلاعب بالمعلومات أو استغلالها لأغراض سياسية.
إن العراق، بعد سنوات طويلة من الحروب والإرهاب والنزاعات، بحاجة اليوم إلى خطاب وطني مسؤول يعزز العدالة والإنصاف، ويحفظ ذاكرة الضحايا بعيداً عن الكراهية والتحريض. كما أن إنصاف الضحايا والكشف عن مصير المفقودين يمثل خطوة أساسية نحو تحقيق السلم المجتمعي وتعزيز الثقة بالعدالة وسيادة القانون.
وتدعو المنظمة جميع وسائل الإعلام والجهات السياسية والناشطين إلى توخي الدقة والمسؤولية في تناول هذا الملف، وعدم نشر معلومات غير مؤكدة أو روايات قد تؤدي إلى تأجيج التوترات المجتمعية، مع ضرورة احترام مشاعر عائلات الضحايا وحقهم المشروع في معرفة الحقيقة.
وفي الوقت ذاته، تؤكد منظمة سما استعدادها لدعم أي جهود إنسانية أو حقوقية تسهم في حماية حقوق الضحايا وعائلاتهم، وتقديم الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للمتضررين، والعمل مع الجهات المختصة ومنظمات المجتمع المدني لتعزيز العدالة الانتقالية وحفظ الكرامة الإنسانية.

SAMA Organization for Psychological and Social Support and Human Rights expresses its deep concern regarding the recent reports surrounding the discovery of a mass grave in the Al-Saqalawiyah area of Anbar Governorate, which preliminary information indicates may contain a large number of victims who disappeared during the years of conflict and violence in Iraq, particularly between 2014 and 2016.
The issue of mass graves in Iraq remains one of the country’s most painful and sensitive humanitarian files, reflecting the ongoing suffering of thousands of families still searching for the fate of their missing loved ones. Therefore, this matter must be addressed with the highest degree of humanitarian and legal responsibility, away from political exploitation, media sensationalism, or attempts to fuel division and sectarian tensions among Iraqis.
The organization firmly believes that the dignity of victims and the truth surrounding their fate must remain above all political disputes and agendas. Any attempt to manipulate facts, spread misinformation, or make accusations without relying on scientific evidence and official investigations constitutes a direct violation of the rights of victims and their families and further complicates this tragic humanitarian issue.
Over the years, SAMA Organization has worked directly with families of victims and missing persons and has witnessed firsthand the profound psychological pain and emotional trauma caused by the disappearance of their loved ones. The organization strongly believes that any humanitarian response to this issue must prioritize the rights of families to know the truth and obtain justice, away from political exploitation or inflammatory rhetoric.
The organization also calls upon the security authorities, local government, and relevant judicial institutions to accelerate efforts to uncover the truth in a professional and transparent manner through DNA analysis and official forensic procedures. Furthermore, we urge the competent authorities to issue a clear and evidence-based public statement, especially in light of the circulation of unverified reports and narratives that have contributed to public confusion and social tension.
SAMA further emphasizes the importance of respecting all legal and forensic procedures related to mass graves, including documentation, exhumation processes, DNA analysis, and coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the professional identification of victims while preserving the dignity and rights of their families.
After years of war, terrorism, and social conflict, Iraq today needs a responsible national discourse that promotes justice, accountability, and social cohesion while preserving the memory of victims with dignity and respect. Revealing the truth about missing persons and ensuring justice for victims represent essential steps toward reconciliation, transitional justice, and long-term peacebuilding.
The organization calls upon media outlets, political actors, activists, and public figures to exercise responsibility and accuracy when addressing this issue and to refrain from publishing unverified information or narratives that may contribute to social tensions or deepen divisions within Iraqi society.
At the same time, SAMA Organization reaffirms its readiness to support humanitarian and human rights efforts aimed at protecting victims’ rights, providing psychosocial support to affected families, and cooperating with relevant institutions and civil society organizations to strengthen justice, accountability, and human dignity in Iraq.
