The Hope Organization for Peace and Development (HOPD) participated in a meeting organized by the office of Dr. Dindar Zebari, Coordinator for International Advocacy in the Kurdistan Region, held in Erbil.

During the meeting, participants engaged in constructive discussions and exchanged views on a number of important strategic issues related to the work of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination among institutions, enhancing the role of civil society, and improving service delivery to better respond to the needs of communities.

The meeting also explored opportunities for partnership, joint initiatives, and mechanisms to support community development, with the objective of promoting peace, social cohesion, and sustainable development throughout the Kurdistan Region.

The Hope Organization for Peace and Development (HOPD) remains firmly committed to fostering strong partnerships and expanding collaboration with all relevant stakeholders in pursuit of our shared goals of peacebuilding, sustainable development, and community service.

ئێمە وەک ڕێکخراوی هێوی بۆ ئاشتی و گەشەپێدان (HOPD)، بەشداری کۆبوونەوەیەکمان کرد کە لەلایەن نووسینگەی بەڕێز دکتۆر دیندار زێباری، ڕێکخەری ڕاسپاردەی نێودەوڵەتی لە هەرێمی کوردستان، لە هەولێر ڕێکخرابوو.

وخلال الاجتماع، جرى نقاش وتبادل للآراء حول عدد من القضايا الاستراتيجية المهمة المتعلقة بعمل منظمات المجتمع المدني والمنظمات غير الحكومية. كما تم التأكيد على أهمية تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق بين المؤسسات، وتقوية دور المجتمع المدني، وتطوير الخدمات المقدمة بما يسهم في تلبية احتياجات المجتمع بصورة أفضل.

كما تناول الاجتماع فرص الشراكة والأنشطة المشتركة وآليات دعم التنمية المجتمعية، بهدف تعزيز السلام والتماسك الاجتماعي وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة في إقليم كردستان.

🕊️ Honoring the 12th Anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide

On the 12th anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide, Hope Organization for Peace and Development (HOPD) proudly stood alongside Yazidi children in remembrance, solidarity, and hope.

At the HOPD Child-Friendly Space (CFS) in Hatin Complex, Sinjar, children participated in a meaningful commemorative activity to honor the memory of the victims while promoting the values of peace, dignity, compassion, and resilience. Through messages of hope, handprint art, the Tree of Hope, and expressions of unity, the children reflected on the importance of remembering the past while helping to build a future free from hatred, violence, and discrimination.

These activities provided a safe and supportive environment where children could express their emotions, strengthen their resilience, and reaffirm their right to live in peace, safety, and dignity.

At HOPD, we believe that remembrance is not only about honoring those we have lost—it is also about protecting future generations through education, healing, and peacebuilding. Statement on the 12th Anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide

On this solemn day, Hope Organization for Peace and Development (HOPD) joins the Yazidi community and all people of conscience around the world in commemorating the 12th anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide. We bow our heads in memory of every innocent life that was taken, every child whose future was stolen, every woman and girl who endured unimaginable violence, every man who was brutally murdered, and every family forever changed by one of the darkest atrocities of our time.

Twelve years have passed, yet the wounds remain painfully present. Thousands of survivors continue to live with profound physical and psychological trauma. Many families still await answers about their missing loved ones. Countless people remain displaced, striving to rebuild their lives while carrying memories that no human being should ever have to bear. The pain of the Yazidi community is not confined to history—it continues to shape lives every day.

The Yazidi Genocide is a reminder of the devastating consequences of hatred, intolerance, and indifference. Remembering is not enough. Commemoration must be matched by meaningful action. Justice must be pursued without compromise. Survivors must receive long-term support. Children must grow up in safety, with access to education, protection, and hope. Women and girls must be empowered to recover with dignity. Communities must be able to return, rebuild, and thrive in peace.

At Hope Organization for Peace and Development, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting the Yazidi community through child protection, education, mental health and psychosocial support, peacebuilding, humanitarian response, and sustainable community development. We believe that healing requires more than emergency assistance—it requires sustained partnership, investment, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to human dignity.

We call upon governments, humanitarian organizations, donors, civil society, and the international community to renew their commitment to justice, recovery, and lasting peace for the people of Sinjar. في هذا اليوم الأليم، تنضم منظمة الأمل للسلام والتنمية (HOPD) إلى أبناء وبنات المجتمع الإيزيدي وجميع أصحاب الضمائر الحية حول العالم لإحياء الذكرى الثانية عشرة للإبادة الجماعية التي تعرض لها الإيزيديون. ننحني إجلالاً وإكباراً لذكرى كل روحٍ بريئة أُزهقت، وكل طفل سُرقت منه طفولته ومستقبله، وكل امرأة وفتاة تعرضتا لأبشع أشكال العنف، وكل رجل قُتل بوحشية، وكل عائلة غيّرتها هذه المأساة إلى الأبد. لقد كانت تلك الجريمة واحدة من أحلك الصفحات في تاريخ الإنسانية.

لقد مضى اثنا عشر عاماً، لكن الجراح ما زالت تنزف، وآثار المأساة لا تزال حاضرة في حياة الآلاف من الناجين الذين يواصلون التعايش مع صدمات نفسية وجسدية عميقة. ولا تزال عائلات كثيرة تنتظر معرفة مصير أحبائها المفقودين، بينما يعيش عدد كبير من الإيزيديين في النزوح، يكافحون لإعادة بناء حياتهم وهم يحملون ذكريات وآلاماً لا ينبغي لأي إنسان أن يعيشها. إن معاناة المجتمع الإيزيدي ليست مجرد ذكرى من الماضي، بل هي واقع مستمر يتطلب اهتمامًا والتزامًا مستمرَّين.
