The most vulnerable people are minorities including widows and orphans ISIS Survivors men, women and children – have been impacted severely by war and regional instability that has led to the mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of people and the destruction of health, educational and community resources. Hundreds of thousands in war zones and post-war regions are now living in extremely poverty with little aid or support arriving at the ground level. The most directly affected area is Sinjar. On August 3, 2014, the so-called Islamic State "ISIS" launched its attack on the Sinjar region in Northern of Iraq, kidnapping 6,000+ women and children, killing nearly 5,000+ more than 80 mass graves have been found in Sinjar containing hundreds of Yazidi victims. Exhumation on most them has not started yet. Eighty-three mass graves have been found in Sinjar since ISIS attacked the area, in addition to tens of single graves, according to media reports. This assault led to displacement of hundreds of thousands of Yazidis. While some escaped from ISIS captivity, they suffer greatly from psychological trauma. Particularly impacted are Yazidi children who were abducted, mistreated, and taught ISIS’ ideology. SOH was founded and is operating by local Yazidi People who have lived through the Genocide and subsequent displacement. Staff have served the IDP population continuously in a variety of capacities and contexts. Today marks eleven years of the Yazidi genocide—a wound still raw, a pain still deafening. Thousands were slaughtered, enslaved, and broken, yet the world remains silent. We stand with the grieving families of Sinjar, their cries unanswered, their scars unseen. This is not just their tragedy—it is world community's failure. The world must wake up, unite, and heal Sinjar with action, not words. Justice. Aid. Remembrance. Now. Before more voices fade into the dark.
