RUSAZ is the outcome of an initiative by a group of highly ambitious youth who share the same vision and goal and decided to work as a team in the area of humanitarian aid, development and reconstruction with special focus on people in need of assistance. The organization is registered as a member of Local NGO Society in Kurdistan Region under ID No. 3257 and obtained the Certificate No. 3247/K issued from Department of NGO's, Erbil-Iraq on 16/11/2016. The organization is registered as a member local organization within Iraqi government under the certification number (1S1908029) on 26/08/2019. RUSAZ, which means new or bright face in Kurdish, focuses on empowering groups, in particular youth, on gender equity, protection, education, and wellbeing in a safe and secure environment free from violence and discrimination. In addition, RUSAZ organization aims to work on environmental sustainability by and increasing awareness on environmental preservation for all targeted groups. Vision RUSAZ aims to provide a solid platform of well-informed, empowered, and a dedicated retainer to the community having the ambition to provide indiscriminate services to all community groups, prioritizing vulnerable groups and those most in need, also believing in social justice and freedom. Mission Contribute to the development of communities’ basic infrastructure, Capacity building, Promotion of gender equality, Protection and provision of youth and women’s rights, Acceptance between different groups, termination of all sorts of violence, Environmental protection and raising awareness. Scope of work/Programmes/ Areas of work: RUSAZ works and aims to continue working in areas of protection, education, youth development programs and capacity building, women development programs, advocacy, security and health,
including, mental health and psychosocial support service provision according to international guidelines. Ongoing coordination and assessment will enhance the organization’s skills and knowledge to address needs and gaps, with result-based projects through an intensive monitoring and evaluation. Methodology: RUSAZ organization applies adaptable multidimensional approach. Social problems are observed within different strata and components, programs are set based on the collected data, strategies are set, and functional referral pathways are designed when a specific service is required. Staff are trained according to the nature of their tasks and oriented for the appointed activities. In addition RUSAZ aims to focus on two specific approaches and services, namely service provision of mental health and psychosocial support and capacity building for youth. Achievements During the past six years RUSAZ have multiple achievements of targeting a numerous number of groups among displaced persons, refugees and host community in different locations in Kurdistan region of Iraq. RUSAZ has implemented various projects and provided different services for vulnerable people such as protection, MHPSS, Livelihood, distribution and art and craft projects. Main Partners:
