AZADI Humanitarian Mission Report
Supporting Refugees from Rojhelat in South Kurdistan

This humanitarian mission was conducted on AZADI's own initiative. All travel and accommodation expenses were personally covered by the participating representatives and were not financed through donated funds.
Introduction
Following recent attacks by the Iranian regime on Kurdistan, many families who had already fled their homes and sought refuge in camps were displaced once again. They were forced to flee the camps and endure harsh living conditions.
In late April 2026, our organization launched a fundraising campaign to support these families. Thanks to your generosity and compassion, we successfully raised 208,000 Norwegian kroner to provide much-needed assistance to those affected.
Between 8 and 18 July 2026, three representatives from AZADI visited refugees from Rojhelat living in South Kurdistan.
The purpose of the mission was to deliver the donated funds directly to the affected families. The team also organized activities to support the psychosocial well-being of children and young people, assessed the humanitarian situation, and met with families who have been living under extremely difficult conditions following repeated drone attacks on the refugee camps.
Financial Assistance
The assistance reached:
• 241 families – 100,000 Iraqi dinars (IQD) per family.
• 18 elderly individuals living alone with illnesses or disabilities – 50,000 IQD each.
• 38 single women – 50,000 IQD each.
Total: 26,850,000 IQD
All distributions were documented through signed beneficiary forms to ensure transparency, accountability, and accurate reporting.
Psychosocial Activities for Children and Youth
In cooperation with Mndalparezi Nergiz, AZADI organized two recreational trips to Majidiland in Hawler (Erbil).
First group:
• 100 children (ages 6–12)
• Approximately 15 adult volunteers
Second group:
• 110 teenagers (ages 13–18)
• Approximately 15 adult volunteers
AZADI covered all costs related to entrance fees, transportation, meals, and refreshments, totaling 1,236,833 IQD.
The activities aimed to provide children and teenagers with a temporary respite from daily life marked by insecurity, fear, and the ongoing threat of attacks. Through play, community, and the presence of trusted adults, we sought to create opportunities for joy, resilience, and positive experiences.
Feedback from children, adolescents, parents, and volunteers was overwhelmingly positive.
Distribution of Sports Kits
Prior to the mission, AZADI provided 124 complete sports kits consisting of jerseys and football socks for children participating in organized summer activities such as football and handball. The kits were personally distributed by AZADI's representatives to promote inclusion, physical activity, and social belonging.

Visits to the Refugee Camps
AZADI's representatives visited several refugee camps and collected extensive documentation regarding children's living conditions, mental health, access to education, family needs, the consequences of repeated drone attacks, and future humanitarian and psychosocial support needs. This material will form the basis of a separate report.
Conclusion
AZADI's humanitarian mission highlights the impact of local partnerships and voluntary engagement. Through humanitarian assistance and psychosocial activities, the organization sought to improve the well-being of affected children and families.
