It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear colleague and friend Gail Low, who worked with us at the Arbat Syrian Refugee Camp - Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Gail founded and managed the Art Therapy project in the camp, which provided art sessions and individual support to help children impacted by the war in Syria to process their experiences and heal from their trauma. She managed the project with so much love and enthusiasm.
Gail was more than a staff member; she was a loyal friend to everyone. She was a very kind and generous woman who truly cared for the children and the refugee community she served. Her presence and dedication touched and changed so many lives. Our hearts and thoughts are with her husband, Matthew, our Çyako Rock Climbing project manager.
During this tough time, we hold Matthew, his family, and all of Gail’s loved ones close in our thoughts and prayers. Gail’s legacy of compassion and willingness to help vulnerable ones will remain with us always. She will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, our beloved Gail.
