Behind every student's success is someone who believed in them before they believed in themselves.

At Eklavya Foundation, our mentors do more than teach—they listen, guide, encourage, and inspire. They help students discover their potential, overcome challenges, and take confident steps toward their dreams.

This Teacher’s Day, we celebrate the mentors who dedicate their time, knowledge, and care to empowering the next generation of changemakers.

To every mentor who makes a difference, one student at a time—thank you. 💙

Happy Teacher’s Day! 🌼

Representatives of the Eklavya India Foundation – Tamil Nadu, Ms. Rajalaxmi and Mr. Nikesh, met with the Hon. Social Justice Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Vanniyarasu, to discuss the ongoing concerns regarding the non-acceptance of Tamil Nadu State Government scholarships by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for student visa applications.

During the meeting, the representatives submitted a petition on behalf of the Eklavya India Foundation, highlighting the challenges faced by 316 students who have been awarded state scholarships to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom.

The Hon. Minister assured the representatives that he would extend all possible support towards resolving the matter and informed them that efforts are already underway in this regard. It was also shared that the concerned IAS officials are maintaining continuous communication with UKVI and the relevant higher authorities to work towards a resolution.

The Eklavya India Foundation appreciates the continued efforts and support of the Government authorities in addressing this important issue and safeguarding the educational aspirations of the affected students.

Looking forward to the possible positive news.

Did you know?

While India celebrated Independence in 1947, millions of people from Nomadic and Denotified Tribes had to wait until 31st August 1952 to be legally freed from being branded as "born criminals" under British colonial law.

But does legal denotification equate to social, economic, and educational liberation? ⚖️

Despite accounting for nearly 10% of India's population (~150 million people), Nomadic and Denotified Tribes (NT-DNT) continue to face generational educational exclusion, administrative invisibility, and deep-seated social stigma. From the absence of basic identity documentation to alarming dropout rates and inter-state misclassification, the structural barriers to dignity remain steep.

True emancipation requires more than policy on paper — it demands concrete grassroots action:

✊ Ground-up youth leadership & political representation
📊 Fair classification through comprehensive socio-anthropological data
📄 Accessible documentation to unlock state welfare, hostels, and scholarships
🎓 Inclusive educational spaces rooted in dignity and lived realities

At Eklavya India Foundation, we are committed to translating this vision into reality. By mentoring first-generation scholars from historically marginalized communities to enter premier higher education institutes, we are equipping grassroots youth to claim their rightful entitlements and lead the movement for community liberation.

On this Vimukta Day, let’s commit to moving beyond historical tokenism toward genuine systemic inclusion.

One decision after graduation can shape the next few years of your life. Make it an informed one.
For many students, graduation is followed by a long list of questions:
What should I study next? Which college is right for me? Should I explore opportunities in India or abroad? Are there scholarships or fellowships I can apply for?
The options are many. The information can be overwhelming. And sometimes, all you need is the right space to explore, ask, and understand.
That’s what Eklavya India Foundation, in association with Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), aims to create through the Postgraduate Bootcamp 2026.
A three-day learning and exploration space for students and graduates to discover:
🎓 Postgraduate courses & colleges
🌍 Higher education opportunities in India & abroad
💰 Scholarships & fellowships
💡 Career pathways and opportunities
🤝 Expert interactions, mentorship & peer learning
📅 9–11 October 2026
📍 IIHS, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru
👥 Open to students & graduates across India
Because choosing your next step shouldn’t be about following what everyone else is doing. It should be about understanding your options and finding what works for you.
If you’re asking “What next?”, this could be a good place to start.
Applications are now open: bit.ly/4wqUh8N
