Tiny Hands, Great Deeds: Students Turn Saviors for Thirsty Birds!

In today’s fast-paced world, where people often struggle to find time for one another, the young students of MPUPS Musthyalapally, Nadikuda Mandal, are setting a heart-warming example. Their compassion toward mute creatures in this scorching heat is leaving everyone in awe.

Inspired by the call to action from the Orugallu Wildlife Society (OWLS), these children have chosen to spend their summer vacations as guardians of nature. Rather than just focusing on play, they have stepped forward to protect our feathered friends.

Understanding the plight of birds during the intense summer, these students have set up water bowls and arranged grains in their backyards and on tree branches. By ensuring a steady supply of water and food, they are providing a lifeline to birds struggling in the heat.

Having such deep empathy and environmental awareness at such a tender age is remarkable. By responding to the initiative of the Orugallu Wildlife Society and acting as "Green Soldiers," the students of Musthyalapally have become role models for society.

The noble deeds performed by these tiny hands will guide the future of our society. Let us whole-heartedly applaud these young champions for their dedication to quenching the thirst of birds and preserving nature.

ముఖ్యంగా 'పారాక్వాట్ డైక్లోరైడ్' (Paraquat Dichloride) అనే అత్యంత విషపూరితమైన గడ్డి మందును నిషేధించాలని అసెంబ్లీ ఏకగ్రీవంగా తీర్మానించింది.రాష్ట్ర వ్యవసాయ శాఖ మంత్రి తుమ్మల నాగేశ్వరరావు గారు ఈ తీర్మానాన్ని ప్రవేశపెట్టారు.

ఈ గడ్డి మందు వల్ల రైతులు, వ్యవసాయ కూలీలు అనుకోకుండా లేదా ఇతర కారణాలతో దీని బారిన పడి ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోతున్నారని (ఏటా సుమారు 2,000 మంది) ప్రభుత్వం ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేసింది. దీనికి సరైన విరుగుడు (Antidote) కూడా లేకపోవడం వల్ల మరణాల రేటు ఎక్కువగా ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు.

Possessing such compassion for living beings alongside their academic pursuits, the spirit of these children is truly worthy of commendation. వన్యప్రాణుల సంరక్షణలో ‘ఓరుగల్లు వైల్డ్ సొసైటీ’ సేవలు అభినందనీయం: జిల్లా అటవీ అధికారులు

వరంగల్, మార్చి 23:
ప్రపంచ అటవీ దినోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకొని వరంగల్ జిల్లా అటవీశాఖ మరియు ఓరుగల్లు వైల్డ్ సొసైటీ (OWLS) సంయుక్త ఆధ్వర్యంలో జిల్లా కలెక్టరేట్‌లో వేడుకలను ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా వరంగల్ జిల్లా కలెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ సత్య శారద ఐఏఎస్ గారు హాజరై జ్యోతి ప్రజ్వలన చేసి వేడుకలను ప్రారంభించారు.

అడవుల విస్తీర్ణం పెరగాలి - కలెక్టర్:
ఈ సందర్భంగా కలెక్టర్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. మారుతున్న కాలానికి అనుగుణంగా పర్యావరణాన్ని కాపాడుకోవాల్సిన బాధ్యత ప్రతి పౌరుడిపై ఉందని, అడవుల విస్తీర్ణం పెరిగినప్పుడే ప్రకృతి సమతుల్యత సాధ్యమని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఓరుగల్లు వైల్డ్ సొసైటీ గత కొంతకాలంగా జిల్లాలో అటవీ మరియు వన్యప్రాణుల సంరక్షణపై ప్రజల్లో అవగాహన కల్పించడంలో పోషిస్తున్న పాత్రను ఆమె ప్రత్యేకంగా అభినందించారు. స్వచ్ఛంద సంస్థలు ఇలాంటి సామాజిక బాధ్యతతో ముందుకు రావడం శుభపరిణామమని కొనియాడారు.

వన్యప్రాణుల రక్షణ మన కర్తవ్యం - DFO:
జిల్లా అటవీశాఖాధికారి (DFO) అనుజ్ అగర్వాల్ ఐఎఫ్ఎస్ గారు మాట్లాడుతూ.. అడవులు కేవలం చెట్లు మాత్రమే కాదని, అవి వేల సంఖ్యలో జీవరాశులకు నిలయాలని గుర్తుచేశారు. వన్యప్రాణుల సంరక్షణలో ఓరుగల్లు వైల్డ్ సొసైటీ అటవీ శాఖకు అందిస్తున్న సహకారం మరియు వారు నిర్వహిస్తున్న క్షేత్రస్థాయి అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు ప్రశంసనీయమని పేర్కొన్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా యువతను పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణ వైపు మళ్లించడంలో ఇలాంటి సంస్థల కృషి ఎంతో అవసరమని అన్నారు.

విద్యార్థులకు బహుమతుల ప్రధానం:
అటవీ దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా పాఠశాల స్థాయి విద్యార్థులకు నిర్వహించిన వివిధ ప్రతిభా పాటవ పోటీల్లో విజేతలుగా నిలిచిన విద్యార్థులకు జిల్లా కలెక్టర్ మరియు అధికారులు చేతుల మీదుగా బహుమతులు, ప్రశంసా పత్రాలను అందజేశారు. విద్యార్థులను ప్రోత్సహించిన పాఠశాల యాజమాన్యాలను కూడా ఈ సందర్భంగా అభినందించారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో అడిషనల్ కలెక్టర్ వై.వి. గణేష్, ఓరుగల్లు వైల్డ్ సొసైటీ ప్రతినిధులు, వివిధ స్వచ్ఛంద సంస్థల సభ్యులు, అటవీశాఖ సిబ్బంది, పాఠశాల విద్యార్థులు మరియు ఉపాధ్యాయులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Students Play a Pivotal Role in Environmental Conservation: District Forest Officer Smt. Lavanya, IFS

Hanamkonda, March 20, 2026: Commemorating World Sparrow Day and World Forestry Day, the Warangal Forest Department and the Orugallu Wildlife Society jointly organized drawing and essay writing competitions for school students at the Kakatiya Zoological Park in Hanamkonda.

Serving as the chief guest for the event, District Forest Officer (DFO) Smt. Lavanya, IFS, took a keen interest in viewing the drawings created by the students. Speaking on the occasion, she emphasized that the responsibility of protecting endangered sparrows rests upon all of us. Explaining the critical importance of forests in maintaining ecological balance, she lauded the students for cultivating an affection for nature from such a young age. A commemorative poster was also released to mark World Sparrow Day.

Event Highlights:
Distinguished Guests: The event was attended by Dr. Radhika (Program Coordinator, NSS Unit, Kakatiya University), Smt. Mayuri (Forest Range Officer & Zoo Assistant Curator), Indaram Nageswara Rao (Founder President, Orugallu Wildlife Society), Chelupuri Shyam Sundar Sharma (Founder Secretary), and others. The guests commended the Orugallu Wildlife Society for its dedicated efforts toward wildlife conservation. He commended the students, praising them for sharpening their intellect and creating magnificent depictions of nature.

Participants: Joint Secretary Pittala Ravibabu, TORCH Founder-Secretary Arvind Arya, Section Officers Surya Das and Shivakumar, Beat Officers, and Zoo staff—along with a large number of teachers, parents, and students—participated enthusiastically in this event.

The event organizers announced that prizes would be presented to the students who demonstrated exceptional talent in the essay writing and drawing competitions tomorrow—March 21st—on the occasion of World Forestry Day.

ఈ విషయంలో ఉత్తరాఖండ్ హైకోర్టు జోక్యం చేసుకుని, తప్పుడు కేసు పెట్టిన పోలీసు అధికారులపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని ఆదేశించడం స్వాగతించదగ్గ పరిణామం. "మీ సొంత అధికారులనే మీరు రక్షించుకోలేకపోతున్నారు" అని కోర్టు చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలు ప్రస్తుత వ్యవస్థలోని లోపాలను ఎత్తిచూపుతున్నాయి.

మైనింగ్ మాఫియా ప్రభుత్వ యంత్రాంగాన్ని ప్రభావితం చేసి అధికారులపైనే కేసులు పెట్టే స్థాయికి చేరడం ప్రజాస్వామ్యానికే గొడ్డలిపెట్టు. ఇలాంటి ఘటనలు పునరావృతం కాకుండా ప్రభుత్వం కఠిన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి.
