Bina Sarkar Maa is 65 years old. She is originally from Kolkata, but life eventually brought her to Vrindavan.
Her husband abandoned her and their two daughters, leaving them without support. At that difficult time, Bina Maa had nothing except her two young daughters and immense courage. With that courage, she made her way to Vrindavan.
After arriving here, she began working as a daily wage laborer. Through hard work and determination, she raised, nurtured, educated, and cared for her daughters. She often went hungry herself, but never allowed her daughters to sleep hungry.
Gradually, her efforts bore fruit. Both of her daughters grew up and were married in Vrindavan. Today, Bina Maa lives with one of her daughters in the Moti Ji Community area of Bara Ghat.
Years of hard labor and advancing age have taken a toll on her health. She is no longer able to work as she once did. During this phase of her life, the support she receives from Yogananda—milk, vegetables, groceries, and medical assistance—has become a tremendous source of relief and comfort for her.
Help us support Bina Maa and more elderly mothers like her for them to know that they have a family within the Trust to support them in time of joy and in times of need.
