Jamuna Maa is 75 years old. Through our Trust, she regularly receives milk, vegetables, ration supplies, and free medical care. She is known for her warm and loving nature.
One day, our Community Coordinator Jagabandhu visited Jamuna Maa’s home with a new staff member, Anup, for her routine health check-up. Since it was Anup’s first meeting with her, he felt a little shy. However, within moments, Jamuna Maa made him feel completely at home.
As they talked, she opened her heart and shared the story of her life. She said,
“Son, my entire life has been spent in the sacred lanes of Vrindavan. I was born here, raised here, and have remained devoted to this holy land. I never married and have dedicated my entire life to the worship of Goddess Durga. Morning and evening, my life revolves around performing havan, offering prayers, and remembering the Divine Mother. Every breath I take is filled with Her holy name.”
Jamuna Maa’s deep devotion has blessed her with remarkable spiritual wisdom. She believes she can sense what lies in a person’s heart the moment she sees them. Falsehood, greed, and deceit cannot remain hidden from her.
During their conversation, she lovingly advised Anup,
“Son, if you have come to serve people, do it with all your heart. Never allow greed or pride to enter your mind. I have seen many people come with selfish intentions and leave, because true service comes from the heart, not from greed.”
As they were leaving, she smiled and said,
“Son, keep coming back. Jamuna Maa’s home is always open for all her children.”
Jamuna Maa never discriminates against anyone. Whoever comes to her is treated like her own child. She shares stories of Goddess Durga with everyone and gently guides those who seem to have lost their way in life.
If she notices someone making a mistake, she never criticizes harshly. Instead, she gives them love and acceptance.
Her life reminds us that the greatest form of service is to love without expectation and see every soul as our own.
