Patit Binapani Sangha has completed 58 years of Saraswati Puja, which is truly a rare and proud journey of continuity and tradition.
This puja began in 1967, started by my father and a few of his close friends with very limited resources but unlimited devotion. In those early days, funds were collected from here and there. To manage expenses, the young boys of the village even took up night duty to guard paddy fields. With hard work and unity, the puja continued year after year.
Over time, this responsibility was lovingly passed on—from our uncles to our elder brothers, and then to us. Despite many hurdles in life, I always tried to be present during the puja. I missed only a few years, mostly when I was at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. Still, the connection never broke.
I can remember those days when it was considered one of the major festival of our ‘Mandal Para’ . A lot of relatives used to come at that time. Three days of puja organized Drama, Cinema, Sports, Song, Dance by the local artists.
This puja has seen many ups and downs. There were times when funding stopped completely glory was reduced. Even then, the puja continued with small collections from passing vehicles on the road. There were moments when we feared that this tradition might end. Our only wish was to somehow complete 50 years.
When the puja crossed its 50th year, celebrated in a slightly bigger way, it gave new life and energy to everyone. Since then, the spirit has only grown stronger.
Today, it fills my heart with happiness to see the younger generation prepared, responsible, and capable of carrying this tradition forward. I truly believe the next generation will hold this flag high and continue the legacy of our beloved club.

পাটিত বিনাপাণী সংঘের সরস্বতী পূজা ৫৮ বছরে পদার্পণ করেছে, যা ধারাবাহিকতা, নিষ্ঠা ও সম্মিলিত প্রচেষ্টার এক বিরল উদাহরণ।
এই পূজার সূচনা হয় ১৯৬৭ সালে, আমার বাবা ও তাঁর কয়েকজন ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধুর উদ্যোগে। সেই সময় আর্থিক সামর্থ্য ছিল সীমিত, কিন্তু ভক্তি ও সংকল্প ছিল অসীম। প্রথম দিকে এখানে-সেখানে ছোট ছোট অনুদানের মাধ্যমে অর্থ সংগ্রহ করা হতো। পূজার খরচ চালানোর জন্য গ্রামের তরুণরা রাতের বেলা ধানক্ষেত পাহারা দেওয়ার দায়িত্বও নিয়েছিল। ঐক্য ও পরিশ্রমের মাধ্যমে বছর ধরে এই পূজা অব্যাহত ছিল।
সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এই দায়িত্ব উত্তরাধিকারসূত্রে হস্তান্তরিত হয়েছে—আমাদের কাকাদের কাছ থেকে বড়দাদাদের হাতে, এবং পরে আমাদের প্রজন্মের কাছে। জীবনের নানা ব্যক্তিগত ও পেশাগত ব্যস্ততার মধ্যেও আমি সর্বদা এই পূজার সঙ্গে যুক্ত থাকার চেষ্টা করেছি। কেবলমাত্র IIT (BHU), বারাণসীতে অবস্থানকালে কয়েক বছর উপস্থিত থাকতে পারিনি, তবে মানসিক সংযোগ কখনও বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়নি।
এক সময় এই পূজাটি আমাদের মণ্ডল পাড়ার অন্যতম প্রধান উৎসব হিসেবে বিবেচিত হতো। সে সময় বহু আত্মীয়স্বজন দূরদূরান্ত থেকে আসতেন। তিন দিনব্যাপী অনুষ্ঠানে স্থানীয় শিল্পীদের দ্বারা নাটক, সিনেমা, ক্রীড়া, গান ও নৃত্যের আয়োজন করা হতো।
দীর্ঘ পথচলায় এই পূজা বহু উত্থান-পতনের সাক্ষী হয়েছে। এমন সময়ও এসেছে যখন অর্থসংগ্রহ প্রায় সম্পূর্ণ বন্ধ হয়ে গিয়েছিল এবং উৎসবের আয়োজন অনেকটাই সীমিত হয়ে পড়ে। তবুও রাস্তা দিয়ে যাতায়াতকারী যানবাহন থেকে সামান্য অনুদান সংগ্রহ করে এই পূজা চালু রাখা হয়েছিল। এক পর্যায়ে আমাদের একমাত্র লক্ষ্য ছিল কোনওভাবে ৫০ বছর পূর্ণ করা।
৫০ বছর পূর্তির পর তুলনামূলকভাবে বৃহত্তর আয়োজনে উদ্যাপন নতুন উদ্দীপনা ও আত্মবিশ্বাস এনে দেয়। তারপর থেকে এই পূজার প্রতি উৎসাহ ও অংশগ্রহণ ক্রমশ আরও বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে।
আজকের দিনে নতুন প্রজন্মকে দায়িত্বশীল ও সক্ষমভাবে এই ঐতিহ্য বহন করতে দেখে সত্যিই গর্ব ও আনন্দ অনুভব করি। আমি দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করি, তারা আমাদের প্রিয় সংঘের ঐতিহ্য ও মর্যাদা আরও সমুন্নত রাখবে।
এটি শুধু একটি পূজা নয়— এটি একটি অনুভূতি।
