SIRI foundation was started earnestly with an idea to improve the lives of underprivileged kids by two passionate individuals residing across the globe but with one common thought! This passion turned into reality and SIRI foundation was born in July, 2010

One of the founders says: As I walked past the rusty old school building, during a visit to grandparents village, a long line of school kids standing under the sun holding lunch plates intrigued me. Indeed, the students were waiting for one good meal of the day, no sanitation, no electricity or any basic amenities, almost nothing changed for the last 60 years of the school’s existence. I asked two questions to myself – how long should I wait on sidelines to do something? Why can’t I do something instead of blaming government, people, corruption and myriad of other problems? Thus born Siri foundation a month later under the direction of Asha for education Kansas City Chapter. In December 2011, true to its slogan – Supporting education at the grass roots level especially for underprivileged children - first ever library in the village Lingapuram and for the school with over 2000 books was opened. A year later another Library was opened at Vechalam village. Since then there has been no looking back! The third Library and information center is scheduled to open in the village Koduru in July 2014. The out-pouring support from the local community, the generosity of many-many individuals with their time and money has made the most impossible and improbable things to succeed! Starting with school libraries to scholarships for higher education and drinking water to basic electricity and sanitation, in less than four years, this young organization has touched and inspired over 500+ students in three different rural schools. The simple “joy of making difference in others life” is supported by many volunteers around the world just like you! If not all, most of the Siri volunteers on the ground are teaching staff at rural schools, very close to the real “need in helping underprivileged kids” with so many heart-warming stories. With your support anything is possible - As Mahatma Gandhi once said

“Whatever you do may seem insignificant, but it is very important that you do it”

We truly hope that you are inspired as much as we are at SIRI to support education and sow the seeds for a better tomorrow!

Our Story

Siri Foundation was born from the idea that you don’t have to wait until you make your first million to make a difference in someone else’s life. Don’t wait, act now.

The founder, Srini Chintala, lives in the U.S.A., but comes from a small village in India. In July of 2010, after spending all day at a rural school, Srini decided to “just do his part” to make an impact in the lives of underprivileged children. He believes that, given equal access to the resources they need to succeed, all children can ignite their inner potential and achieve their dreams. He related to the cause, due to the fact that he was in the same position when he was a child.

But how do you make an impact while living in USA, so far away from the cause?

The answer came through two science teachers, Mr. LVN Rao and Mr. Babu Rao Sureddi. Both men worked at rural schools, where they met kids everyday. Kids with great potential, but lacking the resources to succeed. They too were passionate about helping misfortunate kids, whether it be through mentoring, after school tutoring, or counseling, in order to ensure that kids would not drop out of school. They had been supporting underprivileged students, but financially constrained to scale their services. After meeting LVN Rao and Babu Rao with a common passion, Srini decided to team up with them, tapping into his network of resources while LVN Rao and Babu Rao performed as the ground forces, connecting with kids in need. All three rolled-up their sleeves and founded the Siri Foundation Charitable Trust in August of 2011.
