Rotaract originally began as a Rotary International youth programme in 1968 and has spread into major Rotary – sponsored organisation of over 9,539 clubs all around the world. Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. The main motto of Rotaract is Fellowship Through Service. Rotaract Club of GVP is one among them initiated on August 23, 2008 and chartered on April 24, 2009. We are an institute based club of the institute Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering (autonomous), Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. We have around 700 Rotaractors which makes us the club with highest membership in R.I. Our club has coordinated a plethora of events for social development and has attained a successful outcome for all its efforts. The persistence and innovative ideas of Rotaractors and their active participation has lead RC-GVP into a triumphing path.

Warm Rotaract Greetings!!!

Raksha Bandhan, also known as Rakhi, is a cherished Indian festival that celebrates the bond of love, affection, and protection between siblings. It is observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravana and falls on 28 August in 2026. The festival symbolises the enduring connection and mutual care shared between brothers and sisters.

The occasion is traditionally marked by sisters tying a Rakhi, a sacred thread, around their brothers’ wrists, followed by prayers for their well-being and prosperity. Brothers, in return, express their affection through gifts and a promise of support. The celebration highlights values of love, respect, trust, and togetherness that strengthen family bonds.

RACGVP celebrates Raksha Bandhan, honouring the spirit of love, protection, and togetherness that strengthens relationships and communities.

Milad-un-Nabi, also known as Eid-e-Milad, commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and holds great spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. In 2026, it is observed in India on Wednesday, 26th August, corresponding to the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal 1448 AH. The occasion honors his life and teachings, inspiring peace, compassion, kindness, unity, and humanity.

The day is celebrated through special prayers, religious gatherings, and recitations of Durood and Naat. People reflect upon the Prophet's life and teachings, while families and communities come together to share meals, distribute food, and extend charity and kindness to those in need.

RACGVP extends warm wishes on Milad-un-Nabi, encouraging peace, compassion, unity, and service in every heart.

Warm Rotaract Greetings!!!

India celebrates its 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026, commemorating the nation's freedom from British rule in 1947. The historic occasion marks the birth of an independent nation founded on the ideals of liberty, unity, justice, and equality. It stands as a tribute to the vision and resilience of those whose selfless efforts secured India's independence and shaped its future.

The observance is marked by the hoisting of the National Flag, the Prime Minister's address from the Red Fort, cultural programs, patriotic tributes, and community celebrations across the country. India became a sovereign democratic republic on 26th January 1950, when the Constitution came into effect. Beyond these festivities, Independence Day reminds every citizen of the shared responsibility to uphold the nation's values and contribute towards a stronger, more inclusive, and progressive India.
