Lovers Of Vizag According to the legends this city was named after the God Vaishaka. The city finds mention in the great Hindu epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata.

During the 5th century BC, this town was a part of the Kalinga territory and Buddhist Empire also existed in this region. It was once ruled by the great King Ashoka.
