Green Dream Foundation

Green Dream Foundation We are a registered NGO in India since 2011 working towards environmental awareness, advocacy and action.

Going green doesn't start with doing green acts, it starts with a shift in consciousness. Our vision is to raise awareness about the environment and promote knowledge and education on prime environmental concerns especially global warming. We also focus on exploring knowledge through online and social media about the emerging environment and highlight how people can get ready for the challenges of

tomorrow, thus ushering a safer and more secure future for everyone. The environmental conditions are deteriorating, the population is growing at a rapid pace, trees are being cut indiscriminately and the industrial development has raised pollution levels. All these degenerating factors have a tremendous impact on the social, political and economic conditions prevalent in the world. It is important for all of us to take note of the changes occurring in our environment and our role in that process. Each of us can do something, change some of our daily patterns, to secure the planet and stem global warming.

Building Community Champions for a Cleaner Tomorrow 🌿♻️

As part of the Stainless Swachhata Abhiyan (SSA), a two-day capacity-building programme was organized for members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), strengthening their role as key drivers of sustainable waste management and community-led sanitation.

The programme was inaugurated by the Block Development Officer (BDO), who encouraged participants to become ambassadors of cleanliness and inspired collective action towards healthier, cleaner villages. Representatives from Jindal Stainless and Green Dream Foundation welcomed the participants and highlighted the vision and objectives of the Stainless Swachhata Abhiyan. The presence of the Sarpanch of Trijanga Gram Panchayat and the Block Resource Coordinator further reinforced the importance of collaborative action in creating lasting environmental impact.

The sessions featured practical insights from the Sanitation Consultant on waste segregation, sanitation, and sustainable waste management practices. Adding a valuable peer-learning perspective, members of the Solei SHG shared their on-ground experiences, success stories, and the positive transformation witnessed in their villages through active community participation.

More than just a training programme, the initiative empowered SHG members with the knowledge, confidence, and leadership needed to champion behavioural change and strengthen the implementation of this impact CSR program across their villages.

Small Seeds, Big Impact!

This World Environment Day 2026, volunteers from Jindal Stainless Gurugram came together to get their hands dirty for a greener tomorrow through a Seed Ball Making Activity.

With every native seed ball crafted, we planted the promise of new life, healthier ecosystems, and a more sustainable future. What may seem like a small act today has the potential to grow into trees that provide shade, improve biodiversity, and strengthen our environment for generations to come.

The enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment shown by our volunteers prove that meaningful environmental action begins with simple steps and collective effort.

Together, we're not just planting seeds, we're sowing hope for a greener planet. 🌍🌿

Mandatory Update on World Environment Day 2026!

Our Hosur plantation site in Tamil Nadu has grown into a thriving green oasis over the years—a powerful reminder of what consistent care, vision, and dedication can achieve. 💚

What was once a barren and neglected patch of land has gradually transformed into a vibrant mini forest amidst the rapid development surrounding it. Today, towering trees provide shade, birds fill the air with their songs, butterflies flutter through the foliage, and the entire space is alive with nature.

This transformation did not happen overnight. It is the result of the belief of supporting partners, compassionate government officials and tireless efforts of our workers who nurtured every sapling, protected the growing ecosystem, and remained committed to creating a greener future. Their hard work has turned a deserted landscape into a flourishing habitat for countless species.

Having witnessed this site through its many stages, it is especially rewarding to see what it has become today and the future is promising.

This World Environment Day, we celebrate not just the beauty of this green space, but also the people whose dedication made it possible. Together, they have shown that even the most barren land can bloom when given care, patience, and purpose.

🌳 From deserted land to mini forest.
🦋 From empty space to a thriving ecosystem.
💚 A small patch of green making a big difference.

Reuters reports the LARGEST oil spill since the US-Israeli war on Iran began, covering dozens of square kilometers near Kharg Island.

Oil spills in the sea cause catastrophic, long-lasting environmental damage through both direct physical coating (smothering) and toxic poisoning of marine life. These incidents can devastate ecosystems, with impacts that can last for decades.

Let's be reminded that Wars are the greatest enemy of the environment!

Aligning to the theme of Earth Day 2026 which is "Our Power, Our Planet," we have been emphasizing and embracing the collective strength of individuals and communities to accelerate the transition to drive environmental progress.

Since Earth Day 2025, we have collected and recycled more than 47 tonnes of solid waste. The conscious and responsible citizens associated with us handover clean and segregated waste to our workers through a door to door collection that is conducted across Delhi NCR on a weekly basis. Here is a reminder that Earth Day is Every Day!

We are actively looking out for support in the form of crowd funding and CSR to expand this program and its impact further in the near future. Please email [email protected] to know more!

India's weather office has forecast a below-average monsoon in 2026, with an El Nino expected to develop and weigh on rainfall in the latter half of the June to September season.

In the past, India has seen below-average rainfall in most El Nino years, at times triggering severe droughts that ravaged crops and prompted export ‌curbs on certain grains.

El Nino, a warming of the central and eastern Pacific, alters atmospheric circulation and weakens monsoon winds over the Indian subcontinent.

This is how Climate Change is impacting public health, livelihoods, economies, global trade and much more. Urban as well as Rural Local Bodies need to plan now for the next 6 months while doubling up on initiatives for capturing CO2 and water security.
