This progressive and revolutionary decision will strengthen scientific parking management, improve urban mobility, reduce roadside congestion, and help minimize the accident rate across J&K. We are hopeful that it will pave the way for modern parking infrastructure, especially in major tourist destinations like Verinag.

میری داستان، میری زبانی

دریائے جہلم کی فریاد

میں جہلم ہوں، کشمیر کی رگِ جاں، جو چشمه ویری ناگ کے شفاف اور مقدس پانیوں سے جنم لیتا ہے۔
صدیوں سے میں خاموشی کے ساتھ انسانیت کی خدمت کرتا آیا ہوں۔ میں نے لاکھوں لوگوں کی پیاس بجھائی، ہزاروں کنال زرعی اراضی کو سیراب کیا، باغات اور کھیتوں کو زندگی بخشی، اور کشمیر کی تہذیب، معیشت، تاریخ اور حسن کو پروان چڑھایا۔ میں نے ہر نسل کو دیا، مگر کبھی بدلے میں کچھ نہیں مانگا۔

مگر آج میں زخمی ہوں، کمزور ہوں، اور مدد کے لیے پکار رہا ہوں۔
روز بروز میرا وجود سکڑتا جا رہا ہے۔ میری قدرتی چوڑائی پر قبضے ہو رہے ہیں اور میرے کنارے مسلسل تنگ کیے جا رہے ہیں۔ میرے وہ پانی جو کبھی پاکیزگی، شفافیت اور تقدس کی علامت سمجھے جاتے تھے، آج sewarage، گندگی اور آلودگی کی نذر ہو رہے ہیں۔ افسوس کہ جو دریا لاکھوں لوگوں کو پینے کا پانی فراہم کرتا ہے، آج خود زہر آلود کیا جا رہا ہے۔
میں زندگی بانٹتا ہوں، مگر میری اپنی زندگی خطرے میں ہے۔

حکومتوں نے ترقی اور عوامی فلاح کے نام پر بے شمار اسکیمیں بنائیں، کروڑوں روپے خرچ کیے گئے، لیکن میری بقا، بحالی اور تحفظ کے لیے آج تک کوئی جامع، دور اندیش اور مؤثر منصوبہ سامنے نہیں آ سکا۔ سب میری فیاضی سے فائدہ اٹھاتے ہیں، مگر میری حالت زار پر کم ہی لوگ توجہ دیتے ہیں۔
غیر منصوبہ بند مداخلتوں نے میرے قدرتی بہاؤ کو متاثر کیا ہے۔ میرے کنارے بے توجہی کا شکار ہیں۔ میری خوبصورتی ماند پڑ رہی ہے، میرا تقدس مجروح ہو رہا ہے اور میری وہ شناخت، جس پر کبھی پورا کشمیر فخر کرتا تھا، آہستہ آہستہ معدوم ہوتی جا رہی ہے۔
سب سے زیادہ تکلیف مجھے خاموشی سے ہوتی ہے۔
اس خاموشی کے درمیان چند درد مند آوازیں میری بقا کے لیے مسلسل بلند ہوتی رہی ہیں۔ گریٹر ویری ناگ سول سوسائٹی نے بارہا میری بگڑتی ہوئی حالت کی نشاندہی کی، متعلقہ محکموں اور حکام کی توجہ دلانے کی کوشش کی، اور میری حفاظت کے لیے ہر ممکن جدوجہد کی۔ یہاں تک کہ عوامی مفاد میں معزز ہائی کورٹ سرینگر میں ایک پبلک انٹرسٹ لٹیگیشن (PIL) کی بھی حمایت کی گئی۔
مگر افسوس، ان تمام کوششوں اور فریادوں کے باوجود آج تک زمینی سطح پر کوئی خاطر خواہ اور مؤثر کارروائی دیکھنے میں نہیں آئی۔ ان کی آواز آج بھی میری بقا کے لیے گونج رہی ہے، مگر متعلقہ ادارے گویا سننے کے لیے تیار نہیں۔

آج میں ویری ناگ ڈیولپمنٹ اتھارٹی، فشريز ڈپارٹمنٹ -میونسپل کمیٹی، محکمہ آبپاشی و فلڈ کنٹرول، جل شکتی محکمہ اور تمام متعلقہ اداروں سے پوچھتا ہوں:

کیا کوئی اس دریا کو بھی بچائے گا جس نے نسلوں کو زندگی بخشی؟

کیا کوئی میری کھوئی ہوئی عظمت، خوبصورتی اور تقدس کو واپس لائے گا؟

کیا کوئی آنے والی نسلوں کے لیے مجھے زندہ رکھنے کا عزم کرے گا، یا انہیں صرف میری داستانیں سننے کو ملیں گی؟

دریا محض پانی کا بہاؤ نہیں ہوتا، بلکہ ایک تہذیب کی دھڑکن، ایک خطے کی روح اور ایک قوم کی مشترکہ میراث ہوتا ہے۔ جب دریا کمزور ہوتا ہے تو ماحول کمزور ہوتا ہے، اور جب دریا مر جاتا ہے تو تاریخ کا ایک باب ہمیشہ کے لیے بند ہو جاتا ہے۔

مجھے ہمدردی نہیں چاہیے۔

مجھے عزم چاہیے۔

مجھے بصیرت چاہیے۔

مجھے عمل چاہیے۔

میرے پانیوں کو آلودگی سے بچائیں، میرے کناروں کو قبضوں سے آزاد کرائیں، میرے قدرتی بہاؤ کو بحال کریں اور میری حفاظت و بحالی کے لیے ایک جامع اور مستقل منصوبہ نافذ کریں، اس سے پہلے کہ بہت دیر ہو جائے۔
صدیوں تک میں نے سب کی خدمت کی ہے۔
آج میں انسانیت، پالیسی سازوں، ماہرینِ ماحولیات اور ہر ذمہ دار شہری سے اپیل کرتا ہوں کہ وہ میری بقا کے لیے آواز بلند کرے۔
میں جہلم ہوں۔ میں آج بھی بہہ رہا ہوں، مگر میری آواز ہر گزرتے دن کے ساتھ مدھم ہوتی جا رہی ہے۔ میری فریاد سن لیجیے، اس سے پہلے کہ میری صدا ایک نوحہ بن جائے اور میرا وجود صرف تاریخ کے صفحات تک محدود ہو جائے۔
جہلم کو بچائیے، ویری ناگ کو بچائیے، کشمیر کی قدرتی و تاریخی میراث کو بچائیے، کیونکہ یہی ہماری آنے والی نسلوں کا مستقبل ہے۔Manoj SinhaOmar Abdullah@

His valuable contributions to Verinag, particularly the ex*****on of landmark projects such as the Water Pool and Clock Tower, will always be remembered with gratitude and admiration. His professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public welfare earned him immense respect among the people.

Construction of aesthetically designed, environmentally sustainable gazebos at strategic locations within and around the historic Mughal Garden.
These shelters will seamlessly blend with the garden’s Mughal architecture, providing visitors with protection from sudden rainfall while preserving its timeless beauty.

2. Nagwan Foothills Heritage Art Gallery & Museum
A unique cultural facility proposed above the historic Verinag Spring.
This landmark project will serve a dual purpose offering visitors a comfortable refuge during inclement weather while showcasing the history, culture, art, traditions, and timeless wisdom of our ancestors for generations to come.

Our Vision

Great tourist destinations are defined not only by their natural beauty but also by thoughtful, sustainable, and visitor-friendly infrastructure. Restoring the Dignity of Verinag’s Entrance
Greater Verinag Civil Society South Kashmir draws urgent attention to the entrance of our historic town.
As shown in images the welcome hoarding installed by the Municipal Committee Doru-Verinag has been completely defaced with black paint.
As a world-famous tourist destination, Verinag deserves a beautiful entrance. This blackened board creates a terrible first impression for visitors and tarnishes our public image.
Our Appeal:
1. To the Authorities: We request the concerned department to replace the damaged hoarding immediately.
2. 🛑 VERINAG IS CHOKING:
A Daily Crisis and a Cry for Leadership
Traffic jams have now become a painful daily routine in Verinag. Day after day, life here is brought to a grinding halt by chaotic, paralyzing gridlocks.
Our locals are constantly stranded, emergency services are delayed, and national tourists who travel hundreds of miles to experience the beauty of our historic gateway are left frustrated in endless lines of vehicles. This is no longer just an inconvenience; it is a burning issue damaging our daily lives, our local economy, and our hospitality.
*Paperwork Moves, But the Ground Reality Remains Unchanged*
As shown in the official document image.png, our organization (Greater Verinag Civil Society) previously took this critical matter directly to the Worthy Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir.
While the Divisional Commissioner's office was kind enough to formally forward our representation (Letter No. GV/NGO/472-73/24) to the Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, for appropriate action, the ground reality remains completely unchanged. The files are moving, but the traffic is not. All administrative reminders so far have been in vain, and the suffering of the general public continues to worsen by the day.
*An Urgent Appeal to the Hon’ble Tourism Minister, J&K* Honourable Chief Minister & Tourism Minister of Jammu & KashmirMr Omar Abdullah sb & honourable MLA Doru -Sagam Gh Ahmad Mir Sb for direct intervention.
The permanent solution is already identified and waiting: The immediate establishment of a Multilevel Modern Parking facility on the designated land.

Greater Verinag Civil Society South Kashmir proudly participated in a mega and impactful drug de-addiction drive under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, organized by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Doru. Our committed volunteers stood united with dedication and resolve, raising a strong voice against the menace of drug abuse.

This initiative reinforces our shared responsibility to protect our youth and build a healthier, drug-free society. We sincerely commend the efforts of SDM Doru for spearheading this noble cause.
