NATPU is a non political non profit organization set up in 1991 to assist the tribal peoples in the Jawadhu Hills near Vellore in Tamil Nadu, South India, irrespective of caste or religion; it tries to help them by offering more opportunities for education and training. The tribal peoples are very poor and live in remote areas with little access to education or health facilities. Child labour and
delinquency are common, and women in particular have very hard lives. NATPU is registered Under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act,1975 as a non profit society (No.TN 107/1991). It is also registered under FCRA (Foreign Contributions Regulation Act) to receive overseas funding (No.07595980200).Annual Returns for Forgein Contributions are Submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of INDIA, New Delhi along with Accounts duly audited by qualified Chartered Accountants. Income Tax Exemption under Section 80-G (No: DIT(E)No.(137)/01-02 / Dated: 12.10.2009) is available to local Donors and Sponsors from within India. The Organization is also registered with CHARITY AID Foundation, U.K which enables Tax Efficient Donations to be made by Individuals In U.K. Citizens could be sent to NATPU through CHARITY AID Foundation Account.
