đĸ Call for Applications â MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2026 for Bangladeshi Scholars and Researchers đšđŧ
This is to inform all concerned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Republic of Taiwan has announced the Taiwan Fellowship 2026 for international scholars and researchers, including eligible applicants from Bangladesh.
The Taiwan Fellowship Programme aims to encourage academic research and promote international scholarly exchange by supporting foreign experts and researchers interested in conducting advanced research related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, Sinology, and other social science and humanities disciplines at Taiwanese universities and research institutions.
Fellowship Benefits:
- Monthly research grant:
- NT$60,000 for Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, Research Fellows, or equivalent positions;
- NT$50,000 for Doctoral candidates, Assistant Researchers, or equivalent positions.
- Round-trip economy-class international airfare.
- Access to academic resources and research facilities at host institutions in Taiwan.
- Opportunities to engage with leading Taiwanese scholars and research networks.
Areas of Research:
Applicants may conduct research in, but are not limited to, the following fields:
- Taiwan Studies
- Cross-Strait Relations
- Asia-Pacific Studies
- Chinese Studies (Sinology)
- International Relations
- Political Science
- Economics
- Sociology
- Law
- Public Policy
- Other disciplines related to the social sciences and humanities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be foreign nationals, including citizens of Bangladesh.
- Applicants should be professors, associate professors, assistant professors, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, research fellows, or experts in relevant academic fields.
- Individuals currently conducting degree studies in Taiwan, undertaking research funded by other Taiwanese government agencies, or holding Taiwanese nationality are not eligible.
Fellowship Duration:
The fellowship period ranges from three (3) months to twelve (12) months, depending on the approved research proposal.
Application Procedure:
- Applications must be submitted online through the official Taiwan Fellowship application system.
- Applicants are required to upload the prescribed documents, including a research proposal, curriculum vitae, publication list, and recommendation letters (if applicable).
- A signed copy of the application form and supporting documents must also be submitted to the nearest Taipei Mission within the specified deadline.
Application Deadline: 30 June 2026
Interested Bangladeshi scholars and researchers are requested to submit their applications within the stipulated deadline.
All concerned are requested to disseminate this information among eligible researchers, universities, and relevant academic institutions.
