Improve living status of Rural Population in their own settings through Technical Interventions following an holistic approach towards Agriculture and Rural Development. Objective
• To improve the living status of rural population through appropriate and gainful engagemen
t/ employment (self or by others) indigenously.
• Establishment of education and training institutions in rural settings for imparting non-formal education especially to weaker sections of the society and women for building their entrepreneurial skill and competency.
• Promotion of measures to check degradation of rural environment and natural resources (Land, Water, Biodiversity etc.) and improve their management through technological and social interventions.
• Promote Self Help Groups (SHGs) and help set up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by generating resources from Govt., Private sectors and Society and use it on non-profit mode to promote employment and income increase.
• Help provide market access, improve product quality through technological interventions, make inputs and resources available for agriculture and Agro-industrial development.
• Organize need based trainings, workshops, seminars, field days, exhibitions and technology demonstrations on selected sites for acquainting rural masses with latest technological development.
• Provide consultancy services in area like agriculture, livestock development, environment, hygiene, health, resources management, product quality, value addition, market interventions, education, ICT etc. for holistic development.
• Create ICT network and impart training for capacity building of rural educated youth and preparing them to avail new job opportunities. Panjab Singh
Prof Panjab Singh is presently the chancellor of the Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricutlural University, Jhansi, Chancellor, Manglayatan University, Jabalpur and President of the Foundation for Advancement of Agriculture and Rural development (FAARD Foundation). Prof Singh, a noted Agricultural Scientist and academician, has been serving the Govt. of India at various levels and has been Secretary, Dept of Agriculture Research and Education (DARE), and Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).Prof Singh has served as Vice Chancellor and Director in four major Universities and research Institutes including famous Indian Agricultural Institute (Pusa Institute), New Delhi and great among universities like Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur. Singh has been with the FAO of United Nations and headed the crop sector while being located at FAO regional office for Asia and Pacific in Bangkok (Thailand). Panjab Singh has been the leader and member of several high level delegations, teams, scientific bodies, search and nomination committees etc, both at the national and international levels. This indeed has given him a wide range of experience of working with various systems within and outside the country. Panjab Singh finds his keen interest towards up-liftment of rural masses specially the weaker ones (deprived of education, economy and social status) and attempts to bring them up through social and technological interventions. Singh feels that a lot needs to be done and believes that a lot can be done. What we need to do is to identify areas of interest and set priorities and work on partnership mode with the rural population. His dream would to make them technically and socially competent and empower them to earn their respectful living in their rural settings. TRUSTEEs
Dr. Rajesh Singh
Dr. Rajesh Singh currently working as Public Relations Officer of Banaras Hindu University hails from Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh. Born to a farmer in 1967. Dr. Singh has long and diverse experience in the field of communication and journalism with specialisation on agriculture. He is a postgraduate and doctorate in agriculture. He also holds a postgraduate degree and doctorate in communication as well. For nearly one and a half decade he worked with a number of leading national media houses, both print and electronic, in various capacities. He joined Banaras Hindu University as Assistant Public Relations Officer in 2006. His passion for issues related to agriculture keeps him occupied with various activities concerning farming community. As a communication professional, Dr. Singh is known for his penchant for clarity, credibility and concern for accuracy. Dr. Umesh Singh
Dr. Umesh Singh is presently the Training & Placement Officer of Banaras Hindu
University, Varanasi and hails from Village – Bhualpur, District – Varanasi and facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the University besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up of internship, career guidance and training program of students. He also liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. He did PG and Ph.D from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and has more than 14 years of experience in administration of programs, project management (planning, budgeting & financial management) human resource management, organizing national/international level distance learning seminars, organizing expert lectures/workshops etc. He is also Member Secretary/Program Coordinator (Committee constituted at the University level) to look after the various kinds of need based training programs for Administrative Officers/DDOs/Heads of units and other employees of the University. Shri Dasharath Singh
Dasharath Singh did his Bachelor degrees in Education (L.D. University, Rohtak) and Physical Education (BHU, Varanasi) and Master in Social Science (Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi) and served as sports teacher in Central Schools in different parts of the country including north eastern region. He did mountaineering and yoga courses and organised various sivirs and programs for training students and others. He earned national and inter-university championship in volley ball during his student and service career. He hails from a rural back ground and as such has been thickly associated with farm and rural development activities although.
