Thank you for your contributions to our mission. VNC has been working in the field of environment awareness and nature conservation, right from its inception from 1988. Within two decades of its existence VNC must have introduced thousands of young Indians to importance of environment protection. As a NGO VNC has been instrumental in taking up various environmental issues like pollution, tree fell

ing, water conservation etc. through well trained network of volunteers. VNC is accredited NGO / NPO by GEF (Global Environmental Facility, Washington DC, USA), it has also received funding / support from GEA, (Global Environmental Actions, Tokyo Japan) VNC is recipient of grants from Rufford Foundation, UK & Idea Wild USA. VNC is registered as Public Charitable Trust in India and as a 501(c)(3) Charity in USA.. VNC's Activities can be broadly divided under three heads - Environment Education, Conservation & Research, Awareness & Advocacy. Greenathon 2026 brought together over 1500 people — runners, riders, walkers, and the volunteers who made it all happen. And yep, more than 500 saplings went home with participants because crossing the finish line is cool, but planting for the future hits different. Thanks to all our volunteers, supporters, sponsors and partners for helping us make it happen.

Uttarayan fills the sky with joy and colours. But it also fills it with pain. Kites rise, birds fall.

Sharp strings, cut wings, broken beaks, blind eyes. Many birds don’t die instantly.
They bleed. They struggle. They suffer.

They were flying, looking for food, going back to their nests. They didn’t choose this. We did.

Celebrate the festival. Not their deaths.
Fly kites but use bird-safe string.
Fly away from trees and lakes.
Let birds live. Let the sky be safe.

For over two decades, Mehul has been the center of VNC — raising awareness as an educator, leading programmes across institutions, rescuing and rehabilitating animals, guiding birding activities, managing administrative tasks, and helping organize every major event with dedication and passion.

Today, as a successful naturalist at Reni Pani Jungle Lodge, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Mehul continues to give back by donating a part of his salary to VNC — a true testament to his lifelong commitment to conservation.

Team VNC extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mehul for being a pillar of support, inspiration, and action.

Charotar Crocodile Count 2026 has officially begun! 🐊

Our team is visiting different villages and ponds across the region to observe crocodiles and interact with local communities. Through meaningful communication with villagers, we are gathering valuable information and spreading awareness. It’s heartening to see local people happy to spot crocodiles and actively enjoy being part of the Charotar Crocodile Count.
