'01: With the vision of Professor Narayan Murthy and vigor of students FootPrints was initiated. Then, it was paper presentation which witnessed around 30 participants.
'02 to '09: FootPrints witnessed evident growth and soon became the most awaited fiesta. The participation graph showed a striking increase, crossing the 5000 mark in 2009. Furthermore, FootPrints expanded its horizons - pioneerin
g technical events, seminars and workshops in its precincts.
'10: The participation number soared to the 10k mark. This year, interactive sessions were conducted by icons like Ajay Bhatt, co-inventor of USB. X1: Raising the bar each year, FootPrints'11 gave a thrust to the innovative visions of the enthusiastic participants. The overwhelming response of the participants resulted in a recording footfall of 12000 and prizes worth 7.5 lakhs were awarded. X2: FootPrintsX2 witnessed a staggering participation of 15000 breaking all records and reaffirming its prominence of being Gujarat's largest technical festival. X3: Witnessing international participation this year, FootPrintsX3 set up a benchmark the first ever event to launch its mobile network and Android application. X4: FootPrintsX4 gave a thrust to entertainment and fun element with Live BMX Show, Camp Fire, Jamming Sessions and the Technical section was boosted with workshops for Quadcopter and persistence of vision. X5: This year made FootPrints touch new horizons by its unfathomable success. It witnessed Guest Lectures by 4 renowed international personalities. Encouraging 23,000 participants, this year set new benchmarks to cross. X6: FootPrintsX6 reached new heights by conducting workshops by tech giants - Google and Mozilla. A new event Ballista was also introduced for the Mechanical engineers. Hosting 25,000 participants, it became the most sought-after event of India. X7: FootPrintsX7 strived harder in its 17th year to take its eminence a step higher with 28000 participation in 2017. X8: FootPrintsX8 expedited its horizon by introducing new technical events such as Gizmo, Imprints and Technokick in Macheanema, Lycra and Sanganikee respectively. X9: FootPrintsX9 crossed the horizon of national identity by receiving patronage from UNESCO, Make In India, Skill India, SAYEN and CEE. X10: FootPrintsX10 contributed to the cause of environment and cleanliness with Tree Plantation and Dustbin installation in the entire campus by collaborating with Young India Youth Summit and Clean India Movement. Moreover, it organized first ever EDM concert with Zephyrtone. The 21st Edition:
Conducting an online event amidst the global pandemic, FootPrints’21 was a success with participation of 32,000, encouraging students all over the state to keep learning. Guest Lectures like Matthew Greenhouse (Project Scientist at James Webb Telescope), Roger Hunter (Program Manager, NASA), Naveen Jain (Founder of Moon Express), etc. Introduction of new events like Pycon, Mic-kron, Design-o-mania was done, giving participants the opportunity to develop more skills. Going down the ladder arrived Footprints'22 with a new challenge to revive the legacy in offline mode. The team did a exceptional job to not only make some new records but also added various new segments. Envirosavy for the precautions and awareness to save the environment, Pitcher's Project for the upcoming budding entrepreneurs. In kaleidoscope also we had a highly qualified and renowned bunch of people viz. Suresh Prabhu, Nikhil Taneja, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Ravi Venkatasan and Dr. Pawan Agrawal. The workshops were very futuristic and demanding namely AWS (Amazon Web Services), NFTs(Non fungible Tokens) and Electric Bike. This journey of 22 years has been inspiring, indelible and exhilarating. Living up to its legacy, FootPrints’23 is back, continuing to stimulate innovative mind and encouraging them to think BEYOND!
