Common Public School Unit of JK Bharat Scouts and Guides Udhampur organized a special Mother’s Day programme on 09th of May 2026 by the Scouts and Guides under the guidance of Guide Captains Rashi Verma and Pooja Shan in which 28 Scouts and Guides of the school participated. During the event, students presented colorful cultural performances, which were highly appreciated by everyone present.
Parents of the students also attended the programme and encouraged the children wholeheartedly. The entire event was conducted under the supervision of the school Principal, Suman Sneh. On this occasion, debate Competition also held on the importance of mothers in society, highlighting that a mother is the first teacher of every child. The programme concluded with great enthusiasm and joy.

Three-Day Scouting Camp Concludes Successfully in Doda

A vibrant three-day Scouting Camp, aimed at fostering leadership, discipline, and character among youth, concluded successfully at the Sports Stadium and Green Model Higher Secondary School, Doda. The camp was organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports from May 1 to May 3.
Held under the expert guidance of Rajinder Kotwal (STC), and under the overall supervision of State Secretary Mtr. Nasreen Khan and Wing Commander M.M. Joshi, State Commissioner (AR) & National Commissioner (Programme), the camp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 197 students from New Era Public School, Alfa Institute, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Doda, and Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda.
During the camp, Scouts and Guides of Green Model Higher Secondary School appeared for the Tritiya Sopan Camp, while participants from New Era Public School, Alfa Institute, and Government Girls Higher Secondary School Doda took part in the Pravesh Camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Chief Guest Anil Thakur, ADDC, who inspired the participants to imbibe the true spirit of scouting and grow into responsible and disciplined citizens. Throughout the camp, a variety of skill-based and personality development activities were conducted under the efficient management of District Secretary Vijay Manhas, with active support from trainers Rakesh Sharma (ALT) and Neeraj Sharma (ALT).
A major highlight of the camp was the “Grand Campfire,” graced by Chief Guest Om Prakash Chandail, Principal of Green Model Higher Secondary School, who encouraged the Scouts and Guides to uphold the values of dedication and service, bringing pride to their families and the nation.
The camp concluded with a valedictory function presided over by Prof. Dr. Akhtar Hussain, who lauded the organizers for successfully promoting teamwork, leadership, and a spirit of global citizenship among the participants.

Today on 27th April, 2026 Manoj Sinha joined a large padyatra in Udhampur under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, organised by District Administration, urging citizens to treat the fight against drug abuse as a collective responsibility. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that unity and public participation are essential to defeat the drug menace, calling upon every household to act as a vigilant force. Highlighting that no authority alone can win this battle, he appealed to society to awaken and protect the youth from addiction.

On the occasion, 79 Scouts and Guides of JK Bharat Scouts and Guides, Udhampur, along with their es**rt teachers under the guidance of DOC Rakesh Sharma, participated actively in the campaign. The Lieutenant Governor also flagged off an anti-drug bike rally, launched Mini -Olympics, distributed rehabilitation support to recovered individuals, and reiterated the need for compassion, awareness, and collective action to ensure a drug-free future for Jammu and Kashmir.

J&K The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Udhampur, today organized an awareness rally themed “Our Power, Our Planet” to mark Earth Day and spread the message of environmental conservation and sustainable living.

The rally was flagged off from the DC Office Complex by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, in the presence of a large number of students and staff members from various educational institutions. The procession passed through Slathia Chowk, Court Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Gole Market and the Bus Stand before culminating at the Mini Stadium.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the urgent need to conserve natural resources and urged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. He emphasized the importance of energy conservation, the responsible use of resources and greater use of renewable energy for a cleaner and healthier future. He also called upon individuals and communities to play an active role in protecting the environment for coming generations.

A total of 196 Scouts and Guides, along with their es**rt teachers, participated enthusiastically in the rally. Students from several schools, including KC Gurukul Public School, Common Public School HSS Udhampur, Amardeep High School Jakhani, Happy Model School HSS, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Hr. Sec. School Nainsoo, Everest Public High School and Evergreen Public School, joined the event.

The rally was conducted under the supervision of Incharge State Organising Commissioner Veena Sharma and District Organising Commissioner Rakesh Sharma.

The main objective of the rally was to inspire people to adopt an environment-friendly lifestyle and to create awareness about the importance of environmental protection. Throughout the march, students raised slogans promoting cleanliness, tree plantation and ecological balance.

On the occasion, Prant Shiksha Sansthan Pramukh Rakesh Sharma addressed the participants and stressed the significance of environmental protection. He urged everyone to take a pledge to contribute towards building a clean, green and sustainable environment.

On the occasion of Earth Day, two “Environmental Awareness Classes (Paryavaran Pathshalas)” under Project CLAP were organized for students under the Environmental Protection Activity by JK Bharat Scouts and Guides, District Udhampu in which more than 250 students Participated. The programmes were conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Chenani and Government Higher Secondary School Kud.
On this occasion, students were motivated by District Organising Commissioner Rakesh Sharma to become environmentally conscious and adopt eco-friendly lifestyles. He emphasized that “our existence depends on the environment, and life is possible only because of it.”
The first session of the Pathshala was conducted by Rakesh Sharma (shaikshik Sansthan Pramukh), who introduced the topic and highlighted the importance of environmental conservation.
The second session was conducted by Bharat Bhushan (Prant Sehsanyojak), who elaborated on various measures for environmental protection and discussed possible solutions to address environmental challenges.
At the conclusion of the programme, District Coordinator and District Organising Commissioner ( Scout ) Rakesh Sharma administered a pledge to all students and teachers to actively participate in environmental protection activities.
The event was attended by the Respective School Principals, teaching staff, and other dignitaries.
