Assam Skill University, with the support of The Haif and Tamulpur Anchalik Students Union, successfully organised the District Level Awareness & Counselling Workshop 2026 at Tamulpur Higher Secondary School, Tamulpur, Assam on 21 May 2026.

The programme witnessed the participation of more than 150 students of Classes 10 and 12 and focused on creating awareness about skill-based education, career-oriented programmes, industry-integrated learning, and admission opportunities at ASU for the Academic Session 2026–27.

The workshop was attended by Bibhuti Deka, Principal, Tamulpur Higher Secondary School; Dr. Aal Mamun Islam Laskar, Joint Director – Community Outreach & PR, Assam Skill University; Ms. Syeda Mehzebin Rahman from Assam Skill University Project; Mr. Rishab Bayan, Director, Help Aid India Foundation; Dulujit Das, Information & Communication Secretary, AASU; Anup Kalita, President, Tamulpur District AASU; Tushar Kalita, President, Tamulpur Anchalik AASU; Hirakjyoti Nath, General Secretary, Tamulpur Anchalik AASU; Jayanta Das, Assistant General Secretary, Tamulpur Anchalik AASU; Chakradhar Talukdar, District Coordinator, GVM; along with members of Tamulpur Anchalik AASU and the media fraternity.

Dr. Aal Mamun Islam Laskar highlighted the importance of practical exposure, hands-on training, industry-linked learning, state-of-the-art laboratories, and placement-oriented education at Assam Skill University. Ms. Syeda Mehzebin Rahman shared detailed information regarding ASU’s academic programmes, admissions, and student support initiatives, while Mr. Rishab Bayan spoke on community empowerment and sustainable development through education.

The programme concluded with an interactive counselling session where students actively engaged with the speakers and explored future academic and career pathways in emerging skill domains.

Launch of Book Reading Workshop at Tawang Monastery

We are pleased to share the successful launch of our Reading Workshop at the Library, Centre for Buddhist & Cultural Studies, Tawang Monastery.

The session was marked by the remarkable energy and enthusiasm of the young monks, whose curiosity and eagerness to learn made the engagement both meaningful and impactful. Their active participation reflects the importance of creating enabling spaces that nurture reading habits and a culture of continuous learning.

This initiative reinforces our commitment to strengthening educational access and fostering intellectual growth within community institutions. We believe that such efforts can contribute to sustainable learning ecosystems rooted in curiosity and shared knowledge.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Genla Thupten Tsering for the opportunity and guidance, and to Jugantar Sarma for the continued support. We also acknowledge the dedicated efforts of The HAIF inters team of TISS Guwahati, whose contributions were instrumental in making this initiative possible.

We are happy to share that on 16th April 2026, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Buddhist Studies and the Library of Tawang Monastery.

This collaboration focuses on research, literacy development, cultural preservation, digital education, and educational enrichment. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen access to knowledge resources and create meaningful learning opportunities for monks, students, researchers, and the wider community.

An important part of this initiative is to expand the reach of the library to local communities as well as tourists, making it a more accessible and engaging space for all. We will also work towards identifying key enhancements and additional requirements to further improve the library’s facilities and overall impact.

We look forward to building a stronger, more inclusive learning ecosystem together.
