One of the little boys in the lane dropped by to visit me yesterday evening. He often comes to say hello and has a million questions. Tonight he was in a hurry but said that he had brought a gift to make me “feel more happinesses”. 💞
Chupa Chups candy, green mango flavoured. I had this weird flash, not quite a memory, run across my mind. The boy left quickly as it was his bedtime. Why was this Chupa Chups thing triggering vague memories??? I did the Google and sure enough, Salvador Dali created the logo for a Spanish candy maker back in the late 1960’s and the company became one of the world’s largest candy makers . They still use the logo although they did give it a slight tweak a few years back. Chupa Chups was the first company to make candy on a stick. Lollipops. Their sweets are now sold in over 150 countries around the world, including India.

That little memory flash? I was fascinated by Salvador Dali’s art in my late-20’s and read everything I could get my hands on about this quirky and complex Artist. The Chupa Chups logo must have stuck in my head somewhere. So there you have it, I am the recipient of a piece of Salvador Dali’s artwork and I’m thrilled about the whole thing! Cheers. 😛

I loved this creation I made from found objects. The old broken chalice was buried in the mud outside the gates. I dug it up and when I washed it, beautiful colours came through due to the different mineral deposits. The piece of wood was a treasure to me. I found it while out walking. I have always loved wood, especially gnarled roots and knots. Someone threw my sculpture away like it was
trash. That makes me sad. 😢

For me, the most brilliant marketing campaign ever! The geniuses at Lays Potato Chips launched this campaign in 2019-ish in India. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE, posted selfies with a bag of Lays potato chips. Over 700 million views and not one rupee spent to amplify this original and brilliantly simple idea. Hazzah ! 🙏

Isn’t she lovely? I couldn’t help but acknowledge this beautiful young lady in the streets of the Old City wearing her stunning green ensemble in the middle of the afternoon. How do they manage to look so elegant when the temperature is over 40 degrees Celsius? I was melting 🥵

This massive painting graces the front window of the fabulous art gallery called, “INSPIRIT” in Udaipur, India. He looks majestic and very approachable, much like the gallery itself. Check it out if you’ve not been there yet. It is a veritable Mecca for fine art. (Please excuse the light spots…during daylight you can’t click a photo without having your reflection in the shot, and when it gets dark you have to deal with the lights above the painting). .art
