Play is more than recreation it is a powerful tool for confidence, leadership, health, and equality. Through sports, girls discover their strengths, challenge stereotypes, build friendships, and develop the skills they need to shape their futures.

At Vikalp, we believe every girl deserves the freedom and opportunity to play, learn, lead, and dream. Through our Sports for Empowerment initiative, we work with adolescent girls to build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and life skills that extend far beyond the playground.

Strengthening Girls’ Access to Higher Education ✨

Every girl deserves the right to education, dignity, safety, and the freedom to choose her future.

Through career counseling and college admission support sessions across different villages, adolescent girls were guided on higher education opportunities, college courses, Vikalp Scholarship, and other scholarship options. Support was also provided in filling admission and scholarship forms.

Community meetings and home visits created important conversations around girls’ education, equal opportunities, and challenging barriers such as early marriage and gender discrimination.

🎭📢 Community Dialogue for Child Marriage Prevention | Community Awareness Drive

Under Vikalp’s Child Marriage Prevention Campaign, our team is conducting impactful community dialogues to spread awareness, build understanding, and mobilize collective community action against child marriage.

✨ A powerful highlight of these dialogues is the Community Pledge.
At the end of each session, community members take a strong pledge that they will:

✅ Not practice child marriage
✅ Not participate in any child marriage
✅ Convince others to stop child marriage
✅ Inform officials/police immediately if they see or hear about any child marriage

🌸 Child marriage is not a tradition — it is a crime.
Together, we can protect every child’s rights, education, and future.

Vikalp Launches 15-Day Campaign Against Child Marriage

Vikalp has started a 15-day community campaign to prevent and stop child marriage.
Through this campaign, we will organize dialogues and awareness activities with community leaders, panchayat representatives, religious and caste leaders, frontline workers, youth leaders, and schools.

Our key focus is to spread awareness on:
✅ impact of child marriage
✅ legal provisions under Prohibition of Child Marriage Act (PCMA), 2006
✅ role of youth and community in prevention
✅ importance of education and safe childhood

This is the beginning of a collective movement towards a future where every child is free to learn, grow, and dream.

22 Years of Vikalp

On 8th April 2026, we came together to celebrate 22 years of Vikalp—a journey shaped by courage, conversations, and collective action.

This celebration was not just about looking back, but about feeling inspired by each other, reflecting on our journey, and renewing our hope for a more just and equal future.

We are deeply grateful to our community members, leader girls and women, volunteers, friends, team members, local stakeholders, board members, and partners—each one of you has been an integral part of this journey. Your trust, energy, and commitment continue to inspire us every day.

Together, we have challenged inequalities, questioned harmful social norms, and worked towards transforming power structures and toxic masculinities. And together, we will continue.

We reaffirm our commitment to building a violence-free, peaceful world—one that is safe, inclusive, and dignified for everyone.

🌸 गोगुंदा में विशेष मुलाकात

आज गोगुंदा आगमन पर जिले की पहली महिला SP डॉ. अमृता दुहन जी का विकल्प टीम द्वारा स्वागत किया गया। 🙏

इस दौरान हमने विकल्प के कार्यों—ग्रामीण लड़कियों, महिलाओं और GBV सर्वाइवर्स के साथ चल रहे प्रयासों—की जानकारी साझा की।

✨ SP मैडम ने टीम से संवाद कर यह आश्वासन दिया कि लड़कियों, महिलाओं और सर्वाइवर्स की मदद को priority basis पर सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा।

🤝 जब सिस्टम और समाज साथ आते हैं, तभी बदलाव संभव होता है।
