A'chik Students' Welfare Association - ASWA

A'chik Students' Welfare Association - ASWA ASWA is a students' body that works as the representative of the A'chik Students. (iii) To promote the welfare of the Garo Community in all aspects of life.

The Objectives of the ASWA are:
(i) To establish closer relations with students, youth, the Garo Community, and other communities within the region. (ii) To work in unity for the welfare of all students, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. (iv) To protect the interests and promote the well-being of the Garo Community in political, social, cultural, economic, educational, and religious spher

es, adapting actions according to circumstances as required. (v) To promote, preserve, and uphold the language and literature of the Garo Community. (vi) To safeguard the Garo Community from all forms of exploitation and injustice, and to preserve the natural heritage of the Garo Hills. (vii) To work for the all-round development of the Garo Hills. (viii) To combat all forms of injustice faced within the Garo Hills. (ix) To work towards eliminating all forms of anti-social elements from within the Garo Community. (x) To foster peace, harmony, and prosperity within the Garo Hills, promoting positive relations among the Garos and with other communities.

Hats off to Ada Saleng Sangma

We are happy that Saleng Sangma has spoken in A'chik language for the first time in Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. More Garo MLAs should speak and demand for the inclusion of Garo Language in 8th Scheduled of Indian Constitution.
If Khasi MLAs are working for the inclusion of their then why are Garo MLAs not working for inclusion of our language??

The Aim(s) and objective(s) of the ASWA
1. To established closer relation(s) with the students, youth as well
as with the Garo community and other communities residing in the
region.
2. To promote the welfare of the Garo community in every aspects of their life.
3. To protect and harmonize the condition of the Garo community in the
field of political, social, cultural, economic, education, religion,
etc according the circumstances as may be required.
4. To promote, encourage, enhance and uphold the langauge and
literature of the Garo Community.
5. To protest and safeguard from all kinds of exploitation and
injustice and to preserve the natural heritages of the Garos.
6. To fight against all kinds of injustice meted out to the Garo hills.
7. To work for all round development of the Garo Hills.
8. To root out all kind(s) of anti-social elements from the Garo community.
9. To poster peace and harmony within Garo Hills or other community or
society or poster harmony amongst the Garo or other community for
peace and prosperity.
